I tried a ‘must-have’ celebrity-beloved LED mask after Emily in Paris sparked a mega trend – here’s what I found after four weeks
The Current Body LED mask caused a stir when Netflix’s favorite girl next door was spotted wearing it in season three of Emily in Paris.
Now the troubled yet chic brunette is back on screen and I just had to know if the mask really had anything to do with her City of Love glow.
To make my transformation even more realistic, like Emily, I’ve had quite a month, both personally and with my career in a big city.
Once I (and the people in my house) got used to how horrible I looked five times a week, ten minutes a night, it was time to go.
I used Current Body’s Green Tea Serum and two sheet masks during my four week trial. I continued with my nightly cleanser, but forwent all other skincare products to see how the device really performed.
And I’m impressed. The $585 gadget made my skin feel tighter and my complexion improved—despite my chaotic few weeks that should have wreaked havoc on my face.
An added bonus is that the mask helped me wind down in the evening. By the time I had relaxed for ten minutes with the mask on, I was ready to roll over and go to sleep.
The Current Body mask is considered the most powerful TGA approved LED face mask in the world and features 132 lights.

I used the LED mask for four weeks and noticed a huge difference in my skin
It’s also surprisingly comfortable. I’ve used LED masks before and none of them felt comfortable to wear. Although I definitely dozed off in the Current Body.
The mask comes with a corded remote control, which is also the battery and is charged separately from the device.
The remote control is easy to use as it only has one button – which turns it on and off. However, you don’t have to turn it off as it has a timer, so after the 10 minute treatment time it will automatically turn off.
I only had to charge my mask once every four weeks, about three weeks later after I noticed the light was getting dimmer. I thought I would give it a chance to charge that night, but it turned off before the ten minutes were up – leaving me to charge it and do the treatment properly.
The mask is loved by celebrities, including Gal Gadot, Kim and Kourtney Kardashian and Cillian Murphy, for its signature glow.
The mask comes with a dust bag and safety goggles to block out the red light. I haven’t used these myself, but the light is bright. If you have sensitive eyes, they are very useful.
After just four weeks I noticed that some fine lines had disappeared, the texture of my skin had improved and I had a ‘glow’ around me.

So what’s the science behind the technology? The non-invasive treatment combines red and near-infrared light, the two wavelengths that work beneath the skin’s surface to stimulate the natural rejuvenation process.
By stimulating collagen production and blood circulation, skin looks visibly more radiant and healthier.
The results after using the LED mask are so clearly visible that 95 percent of users reported that their skin tone, texture, firmness and tightness had improved.
I am curious to see how my skin continues to improve with the mask. Many reviewers said they saw changes after four weeks, just like me, but they didn’t really see a change in their face until eight weeks.
