I travelled to Turkey for £16,000 cosmetic surgery to get the ‘Instagram look’

A woman who traveled to Turkey with her husband for plastic surgery to achieve the “Instagram look” has warned others not to follow in her footsteps.

Zara Edgar, 36, originally from Manchester, paid for improvements to her breasts, buttocks and abdomen as well as dental implants at a clinic she found on Instagram last November.

Her husband Idel Edgar also paid for dental implants at the same clinic, with the couple claiming their total bill came to around £16,000.

The former bank clerk who now lives on the island of Grenada in the Caribbean said she “just wanted to look good in [her] bikini’ but is now scarred and regrets her decision.

She has now warned others seeking improvements to avoid low-cost options and avoid clinics on social media.

Zara Edgar, 36, from Manchester but now living in Grenada, has warned other people not to travel abroad for cheap plastic surgery after claiming she felt like there was metal in her stomach when she did work in Turkey

“I was trying to get that Instagram look, where everything is perfect. But I would never do that now – it’s not worth it,” she said.

“Just accept yourself as you are. I wish I had. I am so sorry about this.

“I feel so bad about it. I wanted to feel good in my bikini.

“Igel said I looked pretty before. I wish I had believed him. My stomach feels like it has metal in it. It makes me so unhappy.’

Zara added that Igel, who also had dental implants and veneers at the clinic costing £4,500, was unhappy with his results.

The couple paid for a package deal with the clinic that included an 11-night hotel stay and claimed they spent a further £1,000 on food while in the country.

She went under the knife for her first three procedures on day one in Turkey and got the dental implants four days later.

Zara warned, “Don’t trust Instagram as a platform for finding surgery — everything looks good there.”

“It may be cheaper to go abroad than to the UK, but it’s much more important to take care of your body than to buy something cheap.”

While Zara has no complaints about her breast implants and says her new teeth are bearable, she claims she’s still in pain from her abdominal surgery and her butt isn’t the size she wanted.

She added: ‘Igel’s implants should give him confidence, but he’s more worried now than ever.

“I just want people to know not to do this, do as much research as you can.”

Zara said the clinic has offered to get the pair back as part of the 20-year guarantee that comes with the improvements.

The Turkish company claims the couple didn’t pay as much as £16,000 for the improvements, but hasn’t confirmed the final total.

They also claim that the couple did not make their final payment, but would not say how much was owed.

They added that the couple seemed happy when they left and could call for help at any time.

The plastic surgery was a complicated operation, they said, adding that they have hundreds of patients.
