A tenant was left speechless after receiving an unexpected Christmas gift from his landlord.
The week before Christmas, the tenant came home and found a card on the sidewalk.
To their surprise, it contained $50 and congratulations from the landlord who thanked them for their support over the past year.
“We came home from church this morning and found this at our front door. What a beautiful and thoughtful gesture. God bless,” the anonymous person wrote, sharing an image on The Kindness Pandemic Facebook page.
One lucky tenant received a Christmas letter from his landlord with a handwritten note and $50
Inside the card was a handwritten note that read: 'Dear tenants, thank you for your support.
'May your Christmas be blessed with peace and joy and the New Year even better. From the landlord.'
The generous act was praised by hundreds of others on social media, who were also left in disbelief.
Many praised the offering as 'gorgeous' and 'rare'.
'That is amazing. We need more people like this in the world,” one wrote.
“My landlord cut the rent by $50 a week,” said another.
Other landlords indicated that they always give their tenants something every year as a 'thank you'.
“We give an annual gift basket to our tenants, through the property,” one person wrote.
'We always do this. Without good long-term tenants it would be a challenge,” said another.
“We used to put a week's rent on a card for our wonderful tenants,” wrote a third.
However, others shared their own problems and only wished their landlord would be so kind.
“My landlord would never do that in a million years,” one person claimed.
'You are so lucky. I got another rent increase. It seems to be my annual Christmas present now,” said another.
“How nice – our landlord raised our rent $40 a week for Christmas,” wrote another.
“I would do it for my tenants if I could afford it,” another admitted.
