I married a Victorian ghost then divorced him by having an exorcism and now he’s stalking me – but I want to date real-life men

A woman who ‘married’ a ghost before ‘divorcing him’ by undergoing an exorcism has claimed her former lover is stalking her while she tries to date living people.

Brocarde, a goth singer and songwriter from Oxfordshire, fell in love with Edwardo – who she says is the ghost of a Victorian soldier – in late 2021 after he turned up at her home.

But after a rocky “marriage” that was marred by accusations of cheating and often saw him “ghost” her for days, Brocarde called it quits this summer — and performed an exorcism to rid himself of the ghost.

She enjoyed a few ‘blissful’ months without Edwardo before becoming suspicious that the ghost had apparently re-entered her life – allegedly disguising himself as another identity.

As the singer, who proudly said her music is “designed to make the ears and eyes bleed,” tries to move on with human men, she claims her ex is pursuing her.

Brocarde, a goth singer and songwriter from Oxfordshire, fell in love with Edwardo – who she says is the ghost of a Victorian soldier – in late 2021 after he turned up at her home.

“I thought I had started a new ghost-free chapter of my life,” Brocarde said. ‘It wasn’t until I started thinking about moving on that disturbing and creepy things started happening.

‘After the divorce I went on a trip to Paris to find myself and eventually I found ‘Fabienne’, that’s what he called himself.

‘I was walking along the banks of the River Seine, chasing the shadow of the Eiffel Tower, cowering under my umbrella as the raindrops poured from it, and then it struck me, glistening in a puddle – the reflection of a Frenchman .

‘I tipped my umbrella back, but no one was around. I looked back at the pool where the man was as clear as the ocean.”

Brocarde claims the ghost appeared to be a chef who introduced himself as Fabienne and then followed her home.

She said: ‘A holiday romance with a Parisienne spirit (was) certainly too good to be true. He later revealed himself as Edwardo – it was a honey trap all along. I couldn’t believe I had been attacked by a ghost.’

Since then, she says Edwardo has continued to harass her under the guise of other ghosts. She added: ‘After the French meeting, Edwardo ghosted me again.’

Not happy that he was apparently following her, Brocarde cautiously started going on dates with living people.

The singer said: ‘He gets really jealous of the fact that I want to date a modern man.

‘He knows I no longer find his uniform attractive, so he’s doing everything he can to get me in, even giving himself a modern makeover and presenting himself as a Ken doll.

‘I thought I was going crazy when the image of him with close-cropped blond hair and a pink suit appeared, but I could tell it was him when his thin, battered eyes locked with mine and he slowly transformed back into a rugged Victorian soldier. ‘

The Oxfordshire resident explained another encounter with her former partner which she said scared her away from ghosts for life.

She enjoyed a few ‘blissful’ months without Edwardo before becoming suspicious that the ghost had apparently reappeared in her life – allegedly disguising himself as another identity.

As the singer, who proudly said her music is “designed to make the ears and eyes bleed,” tries to move on with human men, she claims her ex is pursuing her.

‘I came home from a date with a bouquet of flowers, and Edwardo thought it would be funny to pull the heads off all the roses and scatter the petals on my bed.

“He even taught Careless Whisper to play the saxophone – I mean, at least I think it’s him, the sound sometimes echoes in the distance when I take a bath in candlelight.”

Although Brocarde would like to move on with a living man, she says she has been told she has a “special gift” that helps her connect with the dead.

And while she is open-minded when it comes to the spirit realm, she is horrified by Edwardo’s antics.

The singer added: “It’s terrifying, that’s why I wanted him exorcised. A medium told me that Edwardo would always be with me and that is a thought I cannot come to terms with.

“I now feel like I don’t consent to Edwardo’s presence and I’m having a hard time getting him to disconnect from me.”

For now, she is focusing on her work as a singer-songwriter and released the song ‘Just Another Anthem’ after the divorce.

Brocarde added, “I feel like now is the time to focus on my singing and songwriting. Edwardo has given me a lot of inspiration, so I would like to thank him for that.

“Going forward, I feel like I need some meat on my bones. Skeletons and dead men may seem hot, but in reality they are stone cold, unpredictable and scary.’
