I made ChatGPT my personal trainer – my money-saving AI hack gets me custom workouts for FREE
A Los Angeles woman has revealed how she turned ChatGPT into her personal trainer because she couldn’t afford to hire a professional to get her into shape.
Miranda, 26, a designer and art director, has more than 32,000 followers on TikTok, where she shares recommendations, recipes and updates about her life.
The content creator, who uses the handle @mrnda.thats.merecently opened up about how she uses artificial intelligence to create custom weekly workouts for herself.
“People have mixed opinions about AI,” she acknowledged in her video. “For me personally, it’s about taking things that may or may not be used for bad, and using them for good – and one way I’ve discovered that is by making ChatGPT my personal trainer.”
Miranda, 26, a designer and art director based in Los Angeles, revealed how she made ChatGPT her personal trainer in a recent TikTok video
The content creator, who goes by the handle @mrnda.thats.me, used the app’s green screen feature to display the exact training plan prompt she sent to the platform
Miranda explained that she has used the platform to create custom workouts that fit her fitness goals for free and with great success.
“If you’re like me, you probably can’t afford a real personal trainer in this current economic climate,” she said.
“You might not even be able to afford the gym right now. Maybe you don’t even have exercise equipment. This will still work for you. I am living proof.’
Miranda used the app’s green screen feature to display the exact training plan prompt she submitted to ChatGPT.
She asked the platform to “act as (her) personal trainer” and create a “detailed weekly workout” to help her achieve her goals.
The artist said she wanted to build strength and improve her cardiovascular health, while strengthening her legs, abs and arms and growing her glutes.
Miranda described herself as a 26-year-old woman with mild chronic back pain and knee injuries, and said she would like to strengthen the muscles that support her knees, back and torso.
She was specific with her request, noting that she “doesn’t like burpees” and wanted to “incorporate some Pilates exercises” into her workouts.
“This is what it spits out,” she said, pointing to the weekly training plan that ChatGPT generated for her based on her request
Miranda said this is one of many instances where she uses ChatGPT to make her “life a little easier” and “fill in the gaps” when she “can’t afford certain things”
After sharing details about herself, including her likes and dislikes, she listed the workout equipment she has access to on a daily basis.
Miranda explained that if you plan to go to a gym, you can write, “I have access to full fitness equipment.”
Finally, she wrote how many days a week she wanted to train, when she planned to rest, and how much time she was willing to dedicate to her workouts.
“This is what it spits out,” she said, pointing to the weekly training plan that ChatGPT generated for her based on her request.
Miranda acknowledged that she had to make some adjustments after initially being given Pilates exercises at every workout, which she didn’t want.
“So you may find that you may need to clarify certain things,” she said.
“You can come back to this and say, ‘My goals have changed… Can you make a new plan for me?’ Or, “I have new equipment, can you include that in this plan?” she added. ‘So it is very flexible.’
Miranda said this is one of many instances where she uses ChatGPT to make her “life a little easier” and “fill in the gaps” when she “can’t afford certain things like a nutritionist or personal trainer.”
“Clearly Chat GPT is flawed and it is not a perfect replacement for all of these things,” she added. “So if these are things that you should see your doctor about, of course I would recommend that you do so.
“For someone like me who is just looking for a place to start, I think this is a great tool and a great option.”
