A proud dad has revealed how he got his six-year-old tattooed as part of a bonding experience.
Wesley Owens from Arizona had his daughter Adeline tattooed on his leg with both a heart and a smiley face.
He said her work was a “masterpiece” and “meant the world to both of us.”
But the Louisiana native was not the only one in awe of the young artist – with many of his 87,000 TikTok followers were impressed by her art and by his parenting skills.
A proud dad has revealed how he got his six-year-old tattooed as part of a bonding experience
Arizona resident Wesley Owens had his daughter Adeline tattoo a heart and a smiley face on his leg, saying: ‘This (heart) tattoo means the world to both of us’
The doting dad, who works as a tattoo artist himself, filmed the three times Adeline tattooed him in his salon.
During Adeline’s first tattoo, she became a little hesitant halfway through the session before her father encouraged her by saying, “You’ve got it, you can do it.”
And it resulted in a thin heart silhouette that he loved.
Wesley allowed the tattoo to heal and brought his daughter back for a touch-up session.
He showed her the healed tattoo and she said, “Oh, it looks really good.”
Then the father was recorded saying, “I think it looks really good too, but would you mind doing a touch-up for me?” She agreed and said, “Yes, definitely.”
“How it heals this time is how it will be forever and I absolutely love it!!!!!,” he lovingly wrote in the caption of the video.
At the end of the clip, he said, “I’ll give you ice cream tonight,” to which the negotiator responded that she wanted a toy instead — and a toy is what she ended up getting, according to the father’s response online.
Wesley decided he would let Adeline tattoo him again, revealing: ‘I decided to let Adeline tattoo a smiley face next to the heart she had tattooed last time’
But he wasn’t the only one in awe of the young artist: Many of his 87,000 TikTok followers were impressed by her art and his parenting skills.
Wesley decided he would let Adeline tattoo him again, revealing: “I decided to let Adeline tattoo a smiley face next to the heart she tattooed last time.”
And the youngster showed even more confidence the third time.
‘She feels so much more comfortable since last time. She doesn’t even care that it hurts me a little. I think if she sticks to this, she might have a future in tattooing.
‘I wonder how many other six-year-olds tattoo their fathers. I love it when she tattoos me. Each and every one of them is absolutely perfect,” the voiceover said.
He called her work a “masterpiece,” but Wesley wasn’t the only one impressed – in awe of his followers.
One person responded to the comments, writing, “Years later when she gets a client asking how long she’s been tattooing… ‘Since I was 6.’ Well done daddy.’
“If she ever becomes a tattoo artist you should have her make another heart next to that heart,” another added.
A third chimed in: ‘I love how she looks to you for validation every time and you continue to boost her confidence. Cutest thing ever! I would 100 percent get her tattooed.”
“I love that she noticed a spot that she wanted to fix all by herself. That’s a child learning what she wants her art to look like. You are such an amazing dad,” another fan wrote.
One person added: ‘Tattoo her name in her handwriting. I wish I did it when my son was little.”
“The way I raised her, she’s not scared much. Snakes, spiders, heights and unknown adventures are things she grew up loving,” the father told his tattoo client
‘Adeline said, “Daddy, can I put your chains on you and be as cool as you?” I said, “You’re already cooler than me, but I’ll let you try them on.” She makes my heart smile sometimes,” he wrote
‘I’m really so proud of the person she’s becoming. I hope she never loses her passion to enjoy life to the fullest,” the father wrote lovingly on Instagram
When one commenter was impressed by his encouragement towards his daughter, he replied, “I wish all parents would encourage their children like this. The world would certainly be a better place.’
Someone commented on the “strong bond” the two share. He replied, “We have to. We are so dependent on each other. We have the perfect dynamic.’
The father and the now eight-year-old daughter continue to explore together and enjoy hiking, mountain climbing and going to the circus.
“I said Adeline climbs up to someone I was tattooing the other day, and they said, ‘So she’s not afraid of heights?’
“I said honestly, the way I raised her, she’s not scared much. Snakes, spiders, heights and unknown adventures are things she loves.
“I say this every time I post about her, but I’m honestly so proud of the person she’s becoming. I hope she never loses her passion to enjoy life to the fullest,” the father wrote lovingly on Instagram.
