I left Australia and there are three things I miss more than anything: ‘It’s killing me’

A traveler who spent 10 years living in Australia has revealed the three things he misses most about the land Down Under.

Paul Ferrante, who moved back to Canada in June, almost tears up when he thinks about our country’s love of sarcasm, great coffee and chicken salt.

Speaking to TikTok, the prankster explained that sarcasm is his favorite trait when it comes to making friends.

And claims that the Australian approach to it is of the highest standard.

“It’s the height of sarcasm.”

In fact, Paul claimed that he “dies without it.”

Next on his list is chicken salt; long seen as the king of salt in Australia, but hardly adopted elsewhere.

“This is a level above salt, I can’t even explain it,” he said.

“It’s basically crack cocaine for fries.”

Before he moves on to the third thing – the thing he misses the most. Australian coffee.

“I went from real Australian coffee to Canadian drip coffee – literally like eating at a five-star restaurant instead of licking your shoe,” he said.

He added in the comments that he “didn’t mention the beaches” because he didn’t feel like crying online.

And people were quick to comment on the coffee phenomenon.

“There’s no point in North American coffee, you have the same Italian influences as in Australia,” said one.

Paul agreed that someone could ‘make a killing’ making Australian-style coffee in the US and Canada.
