‘I hope he never comes back to Italy, he’s a SCUMBAG’: Antonio Cassano rekindles his long-running feud with Jose Mourinho as he berates him for harassing ref Anthony Taylor, claiming he has ‘RUINED Roma’s image ‘
- Antonio Cassano objected to Mourinho’s antics after Roma’s Europa League loss
- Cassano’s comments are the latest in a long-running feud between the pair
- Mourinho’s future at the club has yet to be decided with interest elsewhere
Antonio Cassano resumed his ongoing war of words with Jose Mourinho with a blistering rebuke from the Portuguese amid uncertainty over his future at the Serie A club.
The ex-Roma man reacted to Mourinho’s antics in the aftermath of their Europa League defeat, where the head coach could be hurled insults at referee Anthony Taylor who had been waiting for him in the car park.
And led to the England referee and his family needing protection the next day to escape the clutches of screaming Giallorossi fans at the airport.
Cassano, who spent five years in the Italian capital between 2001 and 2006, believed Taylor lost control of the ill-tempered affair, but ultimately blamed Mourinho for the unsavory scenes.
“The referee got some things wrong, but just like players can miss goals,” said Cassano on a visit to Christian Vieri’s BoboTv Twitch channel.

Mourinho protested to referee Anthony Taylor as his side lost on penalties
The Roma manager then waited for the official in the car park to scold him for his decisions
“I think Taylor struggled with the task at hand. Everything that happened after that started with Mourinho, he went to the car park to protest and confront the referee.
“We all saw the videos and that led to Roma fans harassing Taylor and his family at Budapest airport the next day.”
Mourinho was expected to leave Roma at the end of the season, but reports in recent days have raised the possibility of him staying in Rome. The ex-Manchester United boss led the club to their first European trophy last season before mounting another impressive European Championship campaign.
Nevertheless, Cassano firmly believes his time is up. Not only in Italy. The former Italian international hopes to have seen the last Mourinho in the country.
“He said he’s going on vacation,” he added. ‘hopefully he doesn’t return to Italy, he’s an asshole.
“For the last two years we have only seen fights and he has helped ruin the image of AS Roma and recent episodes have not served the club well.
“I hope for my people that Mourinho leaves for Portugal and never returns to train in Italy.”
