I Found the Perfect Way to Save Space While Drying Laundry — But People Say It’s Making My House Moldy

A cleaning enthusiast shared a space-saving hack she came across on Amazon, but some thought it would cause more trouble than it’s worth.

Welsh home blogger Chelsea revealed that she found a wall-mounted clothes rack on Amazon to dry her laundry indoors, without taking up any space.

Costing £68, the rack allows her to hang her clothes without taking up floor space, and she called it “perfect for closet and utility rooms.”

She demonstrated how the racks unfolded in a video shared on TikTokwhich was watched by 14.7 million people.

While some rushed to buy the products, others said they wouldn’t dry laundry in confined spaces for fear it would cause dampness and mold.

Chelsea, from the UK, revealed she found a wall-mounted clothes rack on Amazon to dry her clothes indoors in her tiny living space

In the caption to the video, Chelsea raved about the product, saying it’s her “favorite Amazon find of all time.”

The clip showed her unfolding the rack, which is mounted on the wall in the corner of a small room.

Chelsea then lets her clothes hang on the rack and dry.

People liked the clever hack and said they would rush to get the product.

“Feel so handy,” one gushed, while another said, “thanks, now I know what I need”

Others, however, were not so convinced, with some saying that drying clothes indoors would cause dampness and mold.

“Nice, but they shouldn’t be in an enclosed space, it makes all the clothes wet and moldy,” another wrote.

Please don’t dry clothes indoors if you can avoid it. She’s going to get mold in a few months,” someone said.

People were divided between some who liked the idea and others who thought it could cause dampness in a small room

“But let’s just hang the wet laundry over the carpet?” asked one.

But many pointed out that drying clothes indoors is a necessity if you don’t have the luxury of a garden.

“Some of us don’t have a garden or a balcony, so guess what guys, I have to dry my clothes inside because there’s no option,” said one.

Chelsea also hit back at people who doubted the hack was worth it, typing: ‘: Don’t you all know how to properly use a washing machine???? Or did you just wash them by hand in a lake?’
