I grew up in a wealthy neighborhood – these are the secrets of the very wealthy

A woman who grew up in a “wealthy white neighborhood” has candidly revealed more secrets of the very wealthy.

Madison Van Doren, who grew up in Denver, Colorado, had previously delighted TikTok by exposing the “weird” rules about wealth and status that had been instilled in her since childhood.

And after the success of the video, she came back again with another episode of her fascinating observations.

This time, among other things, they moved away from suburban mansions and the news, instead swallowing drugstore lotions and home theaters.

Madison Van Doren, who grew up in Denver, Colorado, had previously delighted TikTok by exposing the “weird” rules about wealth and status that were ingrained in her from a young age

And after the success of her first video, she came back again with another episode of her fascinating observations

In the clip, which has been viewed more than 15,000 times to date, Madison speaks to the camera and references her previous video.

She then briefly adds a caveat to her thoughts as she says, “Just a gentle reminder, this is not meant to be ambitious content. I’m not trying to tell you how to act like old money.

“Instead, it’s more of a cultural anthropology that explores the funny and quirky behavior of people I grew up with.”

Madison, who works as a digital marketing strategist, immediately starts revealing the secrets.

She begins, “So many people have middle names that they use as first names — including my family.

“First name is basically a family name — like grandparent, great grandparent, whatever — and then they use their middle name as their first name.

“They’ll be out in the world saying, ‘Hello, my name is Francis,’ but their first name is Gertrude.”

She goes on to list the favorite footwear of the wealthy, saying, “This one is very location dependent, depending on the season – but Tevas and Hunter boots.

This time the secrets included avoiding suburban mansions and the news, but soaking up drugstore lotions and home theaters

“For skincare and makeup it’s really funny it’s like a flex of not needing it so heavy makeup seems somewhat frowned upon but for skincare oh my god the drugstore lotions just make a killing – I’m talking about Eucerin, Vaseline.’

And Madison’s list doesn’t end there, as she keeps adding that wealthy people like to “convert an extra bedroom” to have a movie theater in their home.

She continues, revealing, “Now on to things that the kind of rich white people I’ve spent a lot of time with don’t like.”

The TikTok star said she had to forget about suburban mansions because it was “all about the luxury apartment or secluded chalet.”

She also said rich people are “not in” the news, adding, “They don’t care what’s happening in the world – except The Economist, they love The Economist.”

She previously revealed to her followers that she grew up in a “wealthy white neighborhood” where she learned bizarre rules about wealth and status

And again, the content creator’s clip was flooded with comments as social media users rushed to praise the candid insight

Madison, who went to boarding school in England, concludes: ‘Ultimately people are people and they are different everywhere, no matter who they are or where they come from.

“So if the people around you really behave differently, I’m so curious, please tell me more.”

And again, the content creator’s clip was flooded with comments as social media users rushed to praise the candid insight.

One user wrote: ‘As a sociology major you had me in ‘cultural anthropology’. This is actually great work you are doing and pushing boundaries.”

Another added, “So informative…an entire culture I knew nothing about.”

And a third just said, “Please continue with this.”
