Soren began by detailing how the “traumatizing” events unfolded, telling the camera, “I witnessed my cat being killed by a dog I was tending outside my house late at night.
“I was walking the dog, dog saw a rabbit, dog escaped my leash, rabbit crossed my cat, my cat fled, dog chased cat, dog attacked my cat.
“This has been one of the hardest losses of my life and I have never experienced anything like it and since her death was such a sudden loss – even though she was 16 years old – I was not prepared for this.
“I’m going to document the process of sending my cat away for safekeeping.”
The TikTok user said they were preparing Loki to be sent to Ohio where the body and heart would be freeze-dried before the organs would be cremated.
They said, “The rest of her remains will be cremated except her heart.”
The text they sent to the Animal Family Pet Preservation stated that they wanted Loki, who was due to be shipped by UPS the next day, to be in a “reclining position with eyes open.”
Soren said the whole process cost about $3,200 in total, adding, “The ability to touch her again is very special, to be able to see her back in the house, just knowing she’s here, personally I believe that it will really help me. with my sorrow.’

Soren added in an interview with Insider“I knew I wanted it [Loki] kept the day I took her home. It was immediately clear that we would be together forever.’
The proud pet owner said they kept the cat’s dead body in their freezer for a month before shipping it for safekeeping.
Nearly 12 weeks later, Soren filmed himself as the freeze-dried cat returned.
They first took Loki’s freeze-dried heart out of the box before bursting into tears.
Soren regained their composure before picking up the rest of Loki, clutching it to their bellies, and gently caressing their deceased pet.
The social media user then revealed how Loki was now on their bedside table, adding: “I’m very, very, very happy to see her again, I am very happy to wake up next to her every morning and I can pet her .’
Soren said the cat will keep its current appearance “forever,” provided the finished product is out of direct sunlight, not kept in humidity above 80 percent, and no heat temperatures in excess of 100 degrees.
They also ordered a custom urn to hold the cremated organs.
