Leah said she later fell in love with another woman at the gates of kindergarten and that she had her husband’s full support — even after the two women broke up.

Leah said she was first attracted to her husband because of his “quiet and sensitive” nature — and that she was making progress in their relationship “without many of the usual frameworks,” she shared. Insider.

At the same time she was in a relationship with another woman, whom she had met at a party, but soon decided to move in with her then-boyfriend, get married and have children.

The mother-of-two said being in an open relationship was largely put on hold to raise their children until the couple moved to Berlin after her husband was offered a job.

There, the couple discovered “a very open culture and a lifestyle where having kids was no barrier to having a good time.”

But while she initially found it difficult to meet new potential partners, Leah revealed, “I started going out at night with one of the other married moms I’d met in my kids’ preschool.

“She and I quickly became good friends. We were both wild, adventurous types, looking for fun.’

The woman soon began showering Leah with compliments, telling her she looked “really fit” and that her eyes were “so beautiful.”

But the bond between the two women quickly developed into something beyond physical chemistry.

Leah, who works as a writer and editor, admitted, “I had no idea if my husband would support me if I wanted to hook up with her — not just as a date, but as a real relationship.”

She was stunned to find out that her husband was really encouraging her and joked “why not?”

The two women plunged into dating – swimming and biking in the lake as well as going to parties – and their families soon became “intertwined.”

They often shared childcare and regularly invited both spouses and all their children to dinner.

Leah dated the woman for two years, but found that it was “ultimately unbalanced.”

She told the publication, “My girlfriend and I were both very emotional, and we clashed in ways that slowly wore away from us.”

The couple eventually broke up, leaving Leah devastated and “crying every day for months.”

She revealed that her husband had continued to support her, adding, “He listened to my grief and hugged me. He took care of our children and the household more than usual.’

Leah has since reconnected with her ex-girlfriend to build a new friendship.

She praised her husband of 12 years for being “happy to go with me in whatever direction I went,” adding, “I felt empowered to be myself and experience life in all its fullness.”
