Lewis Hamilton has apologized to his team saying he ‘did a great job’ after crashing into a wall at turn seven of the Singapore Grand Prix.
Despite starting the race in third place, the British driver fell back into the field after the crash that occurred on lap 33, dropping from fourth to ninth place where he would eventually finish the race.
The Mercedes driver dropped one place behind Lando Norris and then had to stop for a new front wing, losing more time in what was a dramatic race.

Hamilton was able to continue and apologized to his team via radio after his crash.
He said: “I’m so sorry guys, I’m really screwing up.”
The 37-year-old, who is currently sixth in the Drivers’ Championship, struggled to gain traction in qualifying yesterday due to the wet weather in Singapore, but still claimed P3.
But Hamilton had previously reprimanded his team for not listening to him when he asked for tire changes, with several drivers struggling to cope with the slippery track conditions.
Hamilton complained about the Mercedes constructors, claiming they hadn’t listened to him before the race: “I told you about these tyres. In the future you should listen to me. No foothold.’
Max Verstappen was also seen struggling with grip and after losing control of his car leaving the pit lane.

This is not the first time Hamilton has exploded with his team this season, with the driver previously criticizing his team at the Dutch Grand Prix in September after their pit stop strategy ruined his chances of claiming the championship.
“That was the biggest blunder,” Hamilton said over his team’s radio.
“I can’t believe you fucking screwed me. I can’t tell you how crazy I am.’
While Hamilton finished ninth, it was Sergio Perez who claimed first place in Singapore and, subject to sanctions for a safety car incident, will claim his fourth F1 career win and 23rd podium finish.
