I Dream Of Jeannie star Barbara Eden makes rare public outing to celebrate her 93rd birthday

Barbara Eden looked as energetic as ever as she left the city of Los Angeles on Thursday.

The I Dream Of Genie star, who was spotted out for dinner with girlfriends earlier this week, was photographed enjoying a day of pampering at a beauty salon to celebrate her 93rd birthday on Friday.

The 90-year-old looked surprisingly youthful in a simple black long-sleeved blouse and a mustard yellow boho-chic skirt with a lace stripe.

She had her signature blonde locks and wore stylish, sturdy, white-framed glasses.

The TV veteran completed her pre-birthday look with a pair of understated cork wedges with beige straps.

The fact that Barbara is still completely independent is evident from the fact that she drives to the RC Hair Salon in her red Mercedes-Benz SL 550.

She opted for a modestly made-up look for her self-care day, but on Sunday she was fully made up when she was spotted in photos obtained by DailyMail.com.

Although the actress rarely makes public appearances, she was spotted at The Grill on the Alley, a celebrity hotspot in LA, for dinner with friends ahead of her birthday.

Despite her impressive age, Barbara looked remarkably like her I Dream Of Jeannie heyday. One fan who stopped short when he recognized her said, “Oh my God, it’s Jeannie!”

The TV star was still as charming as she replied: ‘Yes, that’s me!’

She rose to fame through her iconic sitcom, in which she played the role of a 2,000-year-old genie who is rescued from the bottle she was being held in by an astronaut (played by future Dallas star Larry Hagman), who lands on a deserted island far from his intended rescue location.

Jeannie – that’s her name – manages to hide with him in her bottle, and the rest of the series focuses on the antics her magical powers cause as she tries to express her love for her savior.

Eden’s true love is her husband Jon Eicholtz, whom she married in 1991.

It was the third marriage for the Voyage To The Bottom Of The Sea actress, who was previously married to actor Michael Ansara – who made several guest appearances as the Blue Djinn on I Dream Of Jeannie – from 1958 to 1974, and to Charles Fegert from 1977 to 1982.

While I was talking to People On her birthday, Eden said enthusiastically, “I’m so grateful to have made another trip around the sun.”

She said she wanted to host a luncheon with her husband Jon and other close friends, followed by a weekend of birthday parties with her family, including her sister Alison and her family.

Barbara appeared on I Dream Of Jeannie for five seasons, from 1965 to 1970, and also had numerous guest roles on popular series of the 1950s and 1960s, including I Love Lucy, Perry Mason, Gunsmoke, Father Knows Best, The Andy Griffith Show and Route 66.

Her big break came in 1955, when she made occasional sketch appearances on The Johnny Carson Show, a variety program that ran for one season before being promoted to host of The Tonight Show in 1962.
