‘I don’t need a man for fame’: Love Island’s Zara slams trolls and says she’s living her best life

Zara Deniz Lackenby-Brown responded to claims she faked a romance with ex beau Jordan Odofin – saying she doesn’t need a man for fame.

The Love Island star, 25, admitted that she’s living her best single life right now and a lot of guys slip into her DMs.

The model began dating former co-star Jordan after she left the villa, but the two soon split after a few weeks.

Fans accused the pair of “faking” their relationship, but Zara backtracked on the false claims, saying they had nothing to lose in getting to know each other.

The TV personality said that they found each other very attractive at the time and they never forced anything.

“What a sweet boy, I can’t fault Jordan — we were dating and like when you realize there’s not that romantic spark, but it’s all good, we’re friends.”

Zara added that she and Jordan, 28, get along well and want the best for each other and they had no reason to “fake” anything.

“It wasn’t fake — I heard that rumor. Someone said he said that, he never said that. Why would we fake it? We have nothing to counterfeit,’ she said.

The model went on to say she was thankful the pair shared an experience together as they couldn’t meet earlier at the villa, but it just wasn’t to be.

But it looks like Zara has a lot on her plate as she admitted that she’s living her best life as a single woman – and that a lot of hot single guys are bombarding her DMs.

“I have few suitable bachelors in the DMs but I’m focusing on myself right now, yes, some famous people – but that was my life before, I’ve had guys in my DMs before so that’s nothing new to me,” said she.

While the Love Island star was quick to point out, she’s not enamored with the “blue tick,” preferring the “personality” and “heart.”

Last month, Zara took to her Instagram Story to update her fans on her exclusive romance with Jordan.

“Hello everyone, Jordan and I would like to acknowledge the increasing public support for us to be seen as an exclusive couple.

‘Having been on a few dates since leaving the villa, we know we definitely get along and enjoy each other’s company.

“It’s been two and a half weeks getting to know each other, and for now it’s a nice friendship between us.

‘We have a lot of respect for each other and that’s what it’s all about.’

Zara entered the villa on day three and locked herself in with Tom Clare – but was later dumped when he chose Ellie Spencer over her.

Earlier this year, Zara confessed that she wished Jordan was at the villa when she was there so they could get to know each other at the time — she noted that she’s thankful the pair crossed paths despite not training.

It comes after Zara rekindled her long-standing feud with Olivia Hawkins.

In an interview on Tuesday, she dealt a bitter blow, saying, “I have good vibes with everyone [on the show] but I feel like Olivia has been the recurring problem.”

The model also told The sun she has “nothing left to say” to the fellow islander, 27, after an argument on the ITV2 dating show.

During the current series, the pair came to blows after they both set eyes on Tom Clare and came to blows several times.

Zara had previously said she felt “lonely and isolated” in the villa amid her feud with the ring girl.

The reality star claimed that no one else really cared that she was upset and that the other girls were just comforting Olivia.

The reality star also said, “We’ve all cleared the air now, but obviously you can’t get along with everyone.

“I have nothing more to say to Olivia to be honest, we saw her at the last event and it’s very cold.

“Everyone I love, I have a good vibe with everyone, but I feel like she’s personally been the recurring problem.”
