I did Dry January and it completely changed my life: Here's what I learned and why YOU should try it

A woman who did Dry January six years ago has revealed how it completely changed her life and pushed her to stay sober ever since.

Amanda Kuda is a US-based alcohol-free coach who regularly gives advice about a sober lifestyle on her TikTok.

Recently, the content creator took to the video sharing platform to convince viewers to give up booze for the month of January – a popular tradition where people give up alcohol after ringing in the new year.

But while many choose to give up drinking for just a month, Amanda has now revealed how her decision to try Dry January ultimately led to her embracing complete sobriety, a move she says has completely revolutionized her life.

Discussing her experience in a viral video titled “My Dry January Experience,” she explained exactly how she came to the conclusion that taking a month off from alcohol could benefit her.

At the beginning of the clip, she showed herself before giving up alcohol.

“Y'all, this is me on this day, six years ago. This is also the last day I ever drink alcohol,” she said.

She explained that she drank half a beer that day and then walked out of the bar with the intention of only giving up the booze for 30 days.

“And those thirty days turned into sixty days, then ninety days, and six months, and six years later, here I am.

“And I'm so proud of that girl who was brave enough to make the decision to break up with alcohol even though all my friendships and socializations revolved around me being a weekend warrior and it revolved around drinking,” she said she.

After getting sober, Amanda said she has never “felt happier” and “more comfortable in her own skin.”

The non-alcoholic coach added that she has never regretted her decision to leave booze behind and was supportive of viewers debating leaving alcohol behind.

In a viral clip, which has been viewed more than 236,000 times so far, she explained how switching to a sober lifestyle helped her make all her dreams come true.
