I declined my girlfriend’s wedding invitation after she tried to charge me $10,000 to be a bridesmaid
Thousands are shocked by a demanding bride who asked her bridesmaids to spend $10,000 to be part of her wedding party.
A woman named Grace was chosen as a bridesmaid for a friend who she said was in a “different tax bracket” than she was, but had to bow when she learned how much it had cost her.
The $10,000 package that each unknown number of bridesmaids had to pay would be used to cover the costs of the bachelorette party, bachelorette party, pre-wedding spa vacation, and the wedding itself in Bali.
Grace said she barely expected an invitation to the wedding, let alone being asked to be a bridesmaid, but she “mercifully left” because she couldn’t afford to fulfill the role in a way that the bride was expecting.
‘I do not love you. I think I was in the wrong salary range to be friends with this person,” she said.

Grace called into the Nova evening radio show Smallzy’s surgery to relay her marital problems, shocking both the host and listeners.
“My drama was more about finances,” she told Smallzy.
“The bridal drama was that it was a $10,000 package to be involved in the wedding.”
Smallzy was impressed by the confession and wondered if he loved one of his friends enough to spend $10,000 before asking where the money would go.
“It was all pre-events. So that was the $250 a head bachelorette party with her mom and all her aunts, there was a $500 bachelorette party, there was a pre-wedding vacation, to prep, and a spa weekend. And the destination wedding itself in Bali,” Grace explained.

She said she “mercifully declined the offer” in hopes that her friend could find someone to give her “the wedding of her dreams.”
“Me and my tax bracket, I’m not that girl. I’m so sorry, rest, love you, have fun,” she said.
Grace said she met the bride when she was in private school and was surprised she was chosen as a bridesmaid.
“Now let me preface this by saying I had a scholarship. I was that boy in hand-me-downs. I bought my own car and this doll rocked in her father’s Mercedes,” she said.
“I really wasn’t expecting an invitation, let alone a bridesmaid’s invitation, so when it came I was kind of like, ‘Oh, okay, it’s occurred to me now that this girl may not have that many friends.'”
Smallzy asked how the bride took the news that Grace had to decline the offer to be her maid of honor.
“To be fair to her credit. She actually took it pretty well. I think I did it tactfully so she didn’t hate me,’ Grace explained.
But no, we’re not friends. We like each other’s posts on Instagram and that’s about it.’
