Andor season 2 is the Star Wars project I’m most excited about. There I said it. Okay, since it’s one of the best Disney Plus shows, that’s not a controversial opinion. But as other exciting new Star Wars shows and movies arrive in the coming years, Andor may not be high on everyone’s priority list.
Well, consider it my dear, dear reader – especially in light of R’s reported returnbook One: A Star Wars Story‘s main villain. That’s right, said The playlistBen Mendelsohn’s Orson Krennic will be part of the supporting cast of Season 2. Mendelsohn’s involvement was accidentally revealed by one of Season 2’s directors, Alonso Ruizpalacios, who named the former Marvel star in addition to his return. Andor favorites Stellan Skarsgård and Forest Whitaker, who play Luthen Rael and Saw Gerrera.
There’s no word on when, where, or how Krennic will appear, but given his extensive involvement in the creation of the first Death Star – he is the Empire’s Director of Advanced Weapons Research, after all – it makes sense that he would appear. Andor The post-credits scene of season 1 already showed that work was in full swing on the planet-destroying space station. And with Andor‘s second and final season would lead directly to Villain oneKrennic’s appearance (even in a cameo capacity) would further help bridge the gap between the Disney Plus series and Lucasfilm’s underrated 2016 film.
What other Rogue One characters will appear in Andor season 2?
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it is incredibly likely that some of Villain one’s other major players will be part of it Andor the substantial cast of season 2.
Diego Luna, who plays Cassian Andor Villain One and the TV prequel, has already hinted that the roguish rebel will meet Alan Tudyk’s K-2SO for the first time in the show’s second chapter. Speaking during a spotlight panel at ACE Superhero Comic Con 2024 (as reported by PopVerse), Luna dropped even more hints than others Villain One characters will cross paths with Cassian when the show returns.
“I can tell you, Villain One is coming,” he teased, “so there will be characters you will recognize. There will be fun things. For those who love Villain onethis season is going to be very special, and it will be fascinating to get to it right away Villain one after watching this second season, because you will see Villain One from a different perspective. I promise you that.”
Unfortunately, Andor fans (like me) will have to wait a little longer for season 2. Last December, Marvel and Star Wars confirmed their 2024 Disney Plus show lineups, but Andor was notably absent from the latter’s roster. However, speak Total Film/GamesRadar Earlier this year, Stellan Skarsgård claimed it will arrive “early next year,” so I’m hoping it will make landfall in the first few months of 2025.
