‘I can’t believe you’re 21’: Jenny McCarthy wishes son Evan a happy birthday as he hits the milestone

Jenny McCarthy wished her son Evan Asher a happy birthday when he turned 21 on Thursday.

McCarthy, 50, posted a photo of Evan to her Instagram account as he was pictured for a beach carnival.

“Congratulations to the most amazing, most beautiful, sweetest man my son @evanjasher,” said the Masked Singer personality. “I can’t believe you’re 21. How did that happen?!? I love you so much.’

The Illinois native, who is married to actor Donnie Wahlberg, welcomed Evan in 2002 with her ex-husband, filmmaker John Asher.

McCarthy has made headlines in the past for her candor about her son’s diagnosis of autism, which she received when he was three years old, and how she believed vaccines were a cause.

Speak with PBS in 2010, she said that initially as a child, Evan “achieved pretty much every milestone” and “started to show some decline — meaning he didn’t talk as much as he used to” after getting the MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccine.

She said in the interview: “The first time I heard about the link between vaccine and autism was a month before Evan got his MMR shot.

“And I walked into my pediatrician’s office during MMR time and said, ‘I don’t want Evan to have this shot. I’m really scared. It was in Time magazine. Parents are really concerned that this will affect the autism admission. is.”‘

McCarthy continued, “And he got really mad at me – really, really mad – and cursed at me and said, ‘It’s just a parent’s desperate attempt to blame something. Has nothing to do with it.”

“My instincts screamed, ‘No,’ but my husband (then Asher), who was with me, wanted it. So he signed the paperwork to get the MMR. I couldn’t even do it. And then the train started to back up a bit with Evan.”

In the interview, she said that among her community of like-minded parents, there was a firm belief that “the cause of the autism epidemic is due to a vaccine injury and/or other environmental exposures,” as well as pesticides.

In recent years, Evan has been busy working on a burgeoning music career, recently releasing a single titled It Doesn’t Matter.

Evan was aided in his musical endeavors by stepfather Wahlberg, who got his break in show business as part of the New Kids On The Block.

“It’s been a pleasure helping Evan realize his song,” Wahlberg shared People in February. “He’s such an incredibly sincere young man, who really has the heart of a saint and the mind of an artist, but none of this was handed to him – he had to put in a lot of work and prove himself committed to the process.”

Wahlberg said he “couldn’t be more proud of” Evan, adding that “writing and recording this song” was an “amazing achievement”.

In the piece, McCarthy said of her son’s endeavors, “Evan has been through so much in his young life, and his passion for living and creating is such an inspiration to me.”

“He’s the kindest, sweetest, most loving human being on the planet, and I’m excited for what the future holds for him.”
