A man who ate only McDonald’s for 100 days has revealed that he lost almost 60 pounds on the fast food diet.
Kevin Maginnis, 57, of Nashville, Tennessee, chronicled his weight-loss journey on TikTok after announcing in late February that he would order breakfast, lunch, and dinner from the chain for the next three months.
By the rules he had set for himself, he was only allowed to eat half of what he ordered, but he was free to have whatever he wanted, including dessert. He also stuck to eating just three meals a day with no snacks and drinking water instead of soda.
Yesterday, on day 100 of his unorthodox challenge, Kevin showed off his remarkable transformation, losing 58.5 pounds and even lowering his cholesterol.

When Kevin started his McDonald’s journey he weighed 238 pounds, now he’s down to 179.5 pounds.
Talking to the Today show, he said, “I feel great.”
During his diet, he shared his lines on his TikTok account, where he has more than 87,000 followers.
To lose weight, the 57-year-old ate three meals a day, but halved the portions.
He also didn’t chew snacks and drank about “80 to 90 ounces of water a day.”
Kevin revealed that nothing was off limits, noting that he chewed on everything from chicken nuggets to fires and desserts.
And while many dismissed his experiment as “unhealthy,” he revealed that according to the results of his blood test, he was even healthier than before.
He told the outlet that before he started his journey, he was pre-diabetic and is now in a normal range.
Kevin said he lowered his triglyceride levels, a type of fat that circulates through your body, by 205 points, and his cholesterol dropped by 65 points.

After 50 days, Kevin’s wife, Melody, decided to join him.
After 40 days, she lost a whopping 17 pounds.
Now that he’s reached his goal of losing weight, he’s hit other milestones to keep the weight off.
This includes exercising and continuing to eat smaller portions.
‘[I plan to] increase the beast in me. We’re going to do an ice dive. I’m going to do a 30-meter rope climb,” he told the outlet, adding that it’s his “personal Everest.”
Although Kevin is not continuing his McDonald’s diet, he only eats three-quarters of his meals to maintain his weight.
And while the 57-year-old, who said he’s gone from fries to fit man, “knows his method wasn’t exactly the best for brain health, he said it helped lose weight.”

“Are there better micronutrients or macronutrients for brain health?” Absolute. But when it comes to getting rid of obesity, reduce the size of meals,” he told Today.
Maginnis’ challenge has reminded many of the 2004 documentary Super Size Me, which chronicles Morgan Spurlock’s attempt to eat nothing but McDonald’s for a month.
Spurlock ate at the fast food chain three times a day for 30 days. His physical and mental health deteriorated rapidly, and by the end of the experiment he had gained 24.5 pounds.
Maginnis firmly believed that his version of the McDonald’s diet would prove that portion control is paramount when it comes to weight loss.
