The undisputed heavyweight world champion Oleksandr Usyk has said he has been released after being briefly detained by Polish authorities at Krakow airport. It was not immediately clear why the 37-year-old Usyk was being held, but in a statement on Instagram after the incident, Usyk said: “Everything is fine, I am free, there are some misunderstandings.” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said: “I was outraged by this attitude towards our citizen and champion”
