Hyrule Castle Underground prison walkthrough in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

Hyrule Underground Castle is probably the first dungeon of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. In essence, the tutorial: you take control of Zelda, go through a crash course with the Tri Rod, and acquire various elemental echoes, the game’s core mechanic.

Still, getting out of prison is never easy. Our Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom walkthrough will show you how to escape from hyrule castle underground prison.

Hyrule Castle Underground Room #1

You start Hyrule Castle Underground locked in a prison cell. You don’t even have to look for a key.

Use your Tri Rod to Table Echo at the bottom of the room. Then make two tablesone of which is stacked on the existing table on the left side of the room, to create a makeshift staircase leading to the hole in the wall. It should look like this:

In the next cell, the door is unlocked. If you go to the right, you will immediately encounter two guards. (If you are caught by guards in Hyrule Castle Underground, you will be returned to the beginning of the room you were caught in.)

Instead, go left and exit through the door at the end of the hallway.

Hyrule Castle Underground Chamber #2

In the next room you have to avoid guards patrolling in predictable routes. Start by using three tables to create a staircase leading up to the shelves at the entrance to the room, like this:

Walk to the left of the planks, drop off the edge and start working on the box in the corner on the ground to Wooden Box Echo.

Around the next corner you’ll see two guards patrolling a cyclic route around a set of planks. Push a box so that it blocks the lower passage (as in the screenshot below), which will confuse one guard, then sneak past the other via the upper passage when the coast is clear.

Around the next corner you’ll see two guards. Once they stop talking, you can just walk past them; they’ll keep looking at the planks. Instead, climb up the ladder in the screenshot below and go left to the Hyrule Castle Pot Echo.

Drop the left side of the planks, then throw a pot into the upper right corner (pictured below) to distract and attract the guard. Move through the lower passage when it is safe to do so.

The next guard (the last in this room) can simply walk through the upper corridor if he looks at the bottom of the room.

Go through the door on the left to trigger a cutscene, after which you will blue cloak disguiselearn the turn movementAnd get a map of Hyrule.

Hyrule Castle Underground Room #3

After Impa goes all Yoda-from-episode-2, it’s time to get back to dungeoning. In this room, first, interact with the trees in the lower right corner to get the Decorative shrub Echo.

Climb the ladder shown in the screenshot above to get to the top of the planks, then go left over the planks and the tops of some bushes. When you get stuck, place two decorative shrubs to bridge the gap, like the two glowing bushes pictured below:

Once you’ve crossed, keep going left until you reach another gap – between the plank you’re standing on and a set of planks with beds on them. Use two bushes to create a bridge like below and then cross over and interact with one of the beds to Old Cot Echo.

To leave this room, stack a wooden box on top a shrub and then a old bed on top of the box to make Frankenstein’s Bridge:

Hyrule Castle Underground – Royal Family Shortcut

Once outside, use your spin attack to mow the grass and reveal some rupees, then jump into the pit on the left to enter the Royal Family Shortcut. The game will now switch to a 2D side-scroller, so just keep going left.

Use a table or old bed echo to climb the first ledge, then jump down and interact with the giant rock to get the Rock Echo.

Push the rock into the water and jump after it. Climb onto the only floating box and then use three wooden boxes to build a bridge leading to the other side of the lake.

On the next set of boxes, place a boulder Pressing a box will cause it to sink to the bottom of the water, giving you space to swim to the next room.

You will return to an isometric view of a castle room. A chasm will open up and will quickly grow, threatening to swallow you. To escape, jump into the water and swim through the end of the waterfall.

You end up in a part of the overworld, Suthorn Beach. And shortly after that you encounter your first dungeons of the Stilled World: the Stilled Suthorn Forest and the Suthorn Ruins.
