Hyper light glider developer Heart Machine takes players to a moody, flooded city in its next game, Owner(s). Like the one from 2016 Hyper light glider and 2021 Solar axisthe following Owner(s) is a fast, stylish game that seems to stay true to Heart Machine’s core ethos.
Heart machine describes Owner(s) as a “fast-paced side-scroller with combat inspired by platform fighters, a story told by dangerous characters, set in a deeply interconnected world ripe for exploration.” You play as two different characters – Luca, the host, and Rehm, her “uncooperative counterpart” – as they learn to coexist and survive the “interdimensional catastrophe,” according to the press release.
The trailer released Friday shows this plot taking place in that quick side-scroll through the dimly lit city, where Luca and Rehm seem to be the only bastion of color. The trailer sets the tone with slow, soft music that is in direct contrast to the tense, fast movements on screen.
Owner(s) expected to come to consoles and Windows PCs in 2025.
