A doting mum has caused a stir after revealing she and her husband started selling sex tapes to pay for their seven-month-old daughter’s medical bills.

The unnamed woman, who goes by Reddit as Lillian’s Angel Mom, took to the discussion forum to unravel the sordid details of her dilemma.

She invited readers to question her about the situation in the popular Ask Me Anything thread.

And other users were quick to express their shock before taking aim at the US healthcare system.

Providing further context in the comments, the woman, who has both a 10-year-old son and a seven-month-old daughter, explained their motivations.

‘The short story is [the baby] doesn’t like food.

‘She was a baby who wouldn’t grow, had two nasogastric tubes and now has a gastrostomy tube, and we still have no idea why she doesn’t like to eat.

‘She visits a nutritional therapist, gastrointestinal, dietitian and regular pediatrics. She has had three hospitalizations, two emergency room visits and weekly appointments throughout her life. The bill is over $20,000.

“We lost our first daughter shortly after birth and we will do everything we can to keep her alive.”

The mother admitted that she works in a hospital pharmacy and had not previously recognized “the consequences of our healthcare system,” adding, “But now that I’m on the other side, I finally saw how rotten our system really was…

‘We have full insurance through my husband’s job, but many of the therapies and needs are not covered by many insurance companies.

“The state does have medical assistance, but we make about a hundred dollars too much to qualify for the assistance programs.

“We’ve applied several times, even telling them she has special needs, is disabled, etc., and they keep turning us down. It’s disgusting and terribly frustrating.”

The woman explained that the couple “sends videos via Telegram and Cashapp and uses Venmo for payment” – with prices starting at just $5.

“We made a few dollars – not enough to make a dent in her bills, but we definitely made some money,” she said.

‘We don’t really have a goal in mind. We’re still seeing doctors and costs are still going up… so we’re just doing what we can.”

Speaking about the efforts she and her husband make to remain anonymous, she said: “We don’t show our faces and cover tattoos that are visible. ‘

However, she also admitted that the couple could have found some joy in it.

‘It’s actually a lot of fun! And we learn a lot about what we like and about ourselves during this journey!’ the mother revealed.

Unsurprisingly, the post was flooded with comments, with readers largely supporting the couple’s bold decision.

One wrote: ‘I wish you all the best – I hope this doesn’t put a strain on your relationship. Life is hard.

‘You don’t have to be ashamed of it. You’re not hurting anyone, you’re paying for a child. Don’t be ashamed.’

Another said: ‘No questions here, just respect for the crowds.’

A third asked: “Are you angry that the US healthcare system made you do this while billionaires are getting richer every day?”

Someone else said: ‘Look, I don’t want to shame anyone. I don’t judge and you do what you want.

“I completely understand, and maybe if I were in your situation I would do the same. But what kind of dystopian nightmare are we living in where you have to sell your own damn tapes to fund your daughter’s medical care?

“It’s so damn depressing to me that this is the system we have.”

According to BlueCross BlueShield: ‘Healthcare spending in the United States amounts to $3 trillion per year, putting pressure on the budgets of families, businesses and taxpayers alike.

“The price of medical care is the largest driver of U.S. health care costs, accounting for 90 percent of spending.”
