A married couple has gone viral after the man set up a ‘Taylor Swift jar’, requiring his wife to put a quarter in it every time she ‘mentioned’ the pop star – or her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
Dana Ricea real estate agent based in Bethesda, Maryland, captured her husband Dan making the pot in a 15-second clip posted on Instagram last month.
In the footage, Dan can be heard shouting, “I can’t take it anymore,” as he feverishly puts a label on a glass cup that reads, “Taylor Swift Jar / Any mention of T. Swift and you’re $0.25 / I’m guilty I can’t take it anymore / including Travis Kelce.”
When Dana told her husband that both Taylor and her new boyfriend, NFL star Travis, “were both on Saturday Night Live yesterday,” Dan shot back, “That’s a quarter.”

The jar’s label also stated that mentioning Taylor’s newest boyfriend, Travis Kelce, would result in a $0.25 fine.
After Dana informed her husband that Taylor and the singer’s new boyfriend, Travis Kelce, had just appeared on Saturday Night Live, Dan shot back, “That’s a quarter.”
Dana, a real estate agent from Bethesda, Maryland, told Fox News Digital that she had not been a serious Swiftie until the kickoff of the singer’s Eras tour earlier this year
“Make fun of him, you’re using the money to see her live,” one commenter wrote about the money that would go into “Taylor Swift’s” “mention” pot
Speaking to Fox News Digital: Dana explained she had never really been a Swiftie before the kickoff of the singer’s Eras tour.
The tour, which kicked off in March of this year, has generated a level of news and social media hype arguably unparalleled in pop culture history, and has mobilized Taylor’s expansive fan base like never before.
“I started seeing reports and things from other people and other industries talking about her from a business perspective – from a power of nature perspective when she first started this tour,” Dana Fox shared about the roots of her Taylor obsession.
“It just popped into my consciousness and became something I wanted to look into because I’m a businessman and I wanted to learn,” she continued.
Dana admitted that she eventually scored tickets to the Eras tour herself, cementing her status as a young Swiftie.
But apparently all the excited Taylor-related chatter in the household was starting to take its toll on her husband.
“Without any fuss, without notice, I just came around the corner and asked him, ‘What are you doing?'” Dana recounted the moment she discovered he was making the pot.
“When I came around the corner, not only did he have the jar, he had rolls of quarters, so he showed me the rolls of quarters and the jar,” she added.
“Since he gave me all the quarters, I’ve definitely put all the quarters in,” she said of her husband’s anti-Swift plan.
‘And I will use them for Taylor Swift tickets in the future, that’s for sure. I have to, right?’ Dana stated boldly.
Many commenters on the ‘gram also expressed that exact sentiment, with one writing, “He’s doing you a favor, you’ll save enough for tickets the next time she goes on tour” — and another echoing, “Joking about him, you use the money to go see her live.’
Hundreds of others poured into the comments with other versions of the humorous trick.
“OMG I love this so much… ❤️❤️ you two are killing me,” one person wrote.
“That’s a million dollar pot if you take it outside your household,” a second commented.
Hundreds flooded the comments section with their takes on the husband’s humorous trick
“I’d go bankrupt,” a third admitted.
“Have you moved yet?” chimed in a Swiftie defender.
Elsewhere, some called for women to turn the tables on men and give them grief about their favorite hobby.
“Men, crazy women, have something they enjoy and can only talk about themselves and their passions. “If I had a quarter for every time I had to listen to a man talk about a sport I don’t care about, I’d be rich,” one person said.
And someone else suggested: ‘Put a pot next to it for football mentions. Every time he mentions the NFL, it’s a quarter.”
