Husband is charged with murder 37 years after his wife vanished
An elderly man in a wheelchair has been charged with the murder of his wife, who disappeared more than 37 years ago.
The 77-year-old, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, is charged with the intentional murder of Sharon Fulton on March 18, 1986.
The body of the 39-year-old mother of four has never been found despite extensive searches by Western Australian police.

The man appeared briefly via video link at the Perth Magistrates Court on Friday and was remanded in custody.
There was no bail application and the case was adjourned to November 22.
Chief Inspector Darryl Cox told reporters that the couple’s children, who were between four and 15 years old when their mother disappeared, were saddened by the news.
“The impact of her disappearance on these children over the past 37 years has been devastating,” he said.
‘And now that their father has been arrested, it is a very difficult time for the family.
Detective Cox said the investigation into Ms. Fulton’s body was still ongoing, but detectives were not actively searching.
