A man is furious with his wife after she ruined a baby shower after she was triggered by her friend’s growing belly.
The 28-year-old explained that his wife, 26, had concluded she was “definitely infertile” after failing to conceive within three months of trying.
He added that doctors had told her this was not the case and it could take a year to conceive, but she insisted she could never have a baby and began to mourn her missed chance at the maternity.
So he was shocked when she met his colleague’s pregnant wife Mary, hit it off, and accepted an invite to her baby shower.
“I asked her when we were alone if she thinks she’ll be okay. I know my wife and I know what usually bothers her,” he said.

“I knew she wouldn’t be basking in happiness over someone else’s pregnancy, so I urged her to think about it. She said she was fine and she was excited, so she went.’
But she was not okay.
Within 40 minutes, his wife had called in tears, begging him to pick her up.
When he arrived at his friend’s house, his wife was crying in the front, surrounded by the expectant mother’s other friends.
“She said she was dancing and looked at Mary’s pregnant belly and couldn’t take it anymore, started crying and ran out,” he said.
He assumed they were going home and asked if she wanted to do something fun to cheer her up, but was flawed when she decided to stay.
She promised she would feel better and “have a good time,” ignoring his request to go home and not be the center of attention.
Three hours later, when he returned with the father-to-be, Mary was nowhere to be seen and his wife was the center of attention.
Mary’s friends “hadn’t even noticed she was gone.”
“My colleague called her and she said she left a long time ago,” he said.
He was furious with his wife and told her she should have left after crying the first time, instead of ruining the party.
He said she demanded to know if he was Mary’s husband or hers, not satisfied with his judgment.
The man took to Reddit to see if he was being cruel by insisting she should have left the shower sooner or missed him altogether.
But people seemed to be on his side, with some doubt whether he should be in a relationship with her at all.
“Your wife turned someone else’s party into her own pity party, to say that the guest of honor left her own shower and didn’t realize she did anything wrong?” Do you really want to have a child with a woman like that?’, one woman asked.
“She needs therapy before she has to get pregnant,” said another.

“I wouldn’t stay around even if she went into therapy, and I doubt she would. She has lied to people saying she is sterile, attention seeking and totally insensitive to other people’s needs. I’m the one exaggerating now, but when she has a child, I see her using her child to draw attention to herself,” a third added.
Others said it took years to conceive.
“As someone who took 2.5 years to conceive and there’s nothing wrong with my fertility, I’m not infertile. This woman calling herself infertile after three months is disgusting and insulting,” said one mother.
Some admitted baby showers can be tough when you’re trying to start a family, but it should never get to the point where you destroy other people’s happy moments.
“If she has a seizure like that after four months like her mid-twenties, she’s completely too fragile to be a decent parent,” said one woman who is infertile.
“There’s a time and place and this wasn’t the time, wasn’t the place, and as far as a medical professional told her, not her trauma,” said another.
One woman explained that she is infertile after a full hysterotomy and has said no to baby-related gatherings as a result.
“Virtually everything related to pregnancies and babies hurts me deeply,” she said.
She clearly craves attention and hijacking someone’s baby shower is such a low blow! I would never have done that, and I literally have NO chance of getting pregnant anymore and have a genuine reason to be upset in such a situation.”
The man said his wife has not spoken to her since the baby shower and that he is seeking an apology from him for siding with Mary over her.
