Hoarders’ pile of junk gets so ‘out of control’ that the police had to be called in to clean it up

The pile of junk from a serial hoarder couple that had built up over a year has grown so large that the police had to be called in to clean it up.
Police officers and Onkaparinga Council officers entered the Huntfield Heights home in south Adelaide on Monday morning to begin clearing away the rubbish that had accumulated on a wildlife strip.
Neighbors said the huge pile, which included refrigerators, tools, Christmas decorations, clothes and a massage chair, was teeming with rats and snakes.
“It’s just an absolute c*ttip,” said neighbor Jason Wrigley 7News. “There’s a real menagerie of junk. It’s a shame, it’s a health problem and a fire hazard.’
The couple were both pictured pointing and shouting at the people clearing their rubbish, which was being hauled away by trucks.

Footage from the cleanup showed the female resident throwing an unknown fuel from a red jerry can onto the trash as officers dumped piles of it into a dumpster.
The pair at one point appeared to be trying to build a fence of rubbish to prevent officers from entering their compound.
Mr Wrigley said the couple are ‘just driving around… collecting rubbish, all day every day’, leading others to fear the pile wouldn’t last long building up.
Local man Ray Lovell said the situation was “getting out of hand.” I don’t think she will stop. She will reboot. It won’t be the end.’
The couple had hoped to sell some items online, but a disability prevented them from meeting the council’s deadline for clearing the pile of rubbish.
The mountain of rubbish is so enormous that cleaning up is expected to take four days.
