Hunter Biden’s daughter Naomi calls David Axelrod a ‘jerk’ for saying her grandfather Joe should drop out: The president’s family and White House defend his 2024 election — and say terrible polls should be taken with a ‘grain of salt’

The White House on Tuesday dismissed new polls showing the president losing to Donald Trump in five swing states — after President Biden’s granddaughter took a shot at a top Democratic official who questioned the wisdom of his reelection bid.

The blast from within the Biden family came as White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre first commented on a stunning Sunday New York Times/Siena College poll that found Biden losing to Trump in five of six swing states that would likely determine the winner. in 2024.

The results sparked new debate in Democratic circles about whether Biden is the best Democratic candidate to take on Trump in 2024, who has vowed “retaliation” against his political enemies and is now beating him on the economy and in Biden’s coalition is moving.

Democratic strategist David Axelrod, who helped lead Barack Obama’s first victory, wrote messages asking whether Biden should reconsider his reelection bid — apparently fueling a simmering feud with Biden’s granddaughter.

‘It is very late to change horses; “A lot will happen in the coming year that no one can predict, and Biden’s team says his decision to run has been made,” Axelrod wrote on X.

Naomi Biden (L), the granddaughter of US President Joe Biden, competed online with former Barack Obama advisor David Axelrod. “I look forward to proving the political pundits wrong… again,” she wrote, after he said the polls should prompt President Biden to decide whether it is “wise” for him to seek re-election

“Only Joe Biden can make this decision,” he added. “If he continues to run for office, he will become the nominee of the Democratic Party. What he has to decide is whether that is wise; Whether it is in HIS interest or in that of the country?

That prompted Naomi, the daughter of Hunter Biden and his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, to give her own response. “I look forward to proving the political pundits wrong… again,” she wrote on Monday.

She then retweeted a post on X post dunking on Axelrod and commented on Biden’s failure to capture delegates in New Hampshire in 2020.

“Disingenuous – you predicted his demise from the start and doubted his resilience. There’s a difference between being entitled to an opinion and enjoying a platform to discredit AND between journalism and being a jerk with a microphone. Then “who would have thought he would win,” she wrote in February of that year.

Biden ultimately won after a strong showing in South Carolina.

She tried to reduce Axelrod’s predictive power, just as Jean-Pierre minimized the survey results – which according to a CBS poll with Trump leading Biden from 51 to 48.

A Reuters/Ipsos poll released Tuesday, Biden’s approval rating had fallen to 39 percent, the lowest level since April. His favor has been ‘underwater’ since August 2021.

“We really have to take these polls with a grain of salt,” Jean-Pierre said during her White House briefing.

She gave the line after initially saying she wouldn’t talk about “anything related to 2024” due to legal restrictions.

“I also want to be very clear here: We really need to take these polls with a grain of salt,” she said.

She called for being “mindful” and invoked 2022, when there was a “red wave that never materialized,” despite stories of Democrats being “wiped out.

” (Republicans won only a narrow majority in the House of Representatives).

She then pointed to the 2020 polls, but also the 2011 polls that showed Obama in trouble against Mitt Romney.

From now until the next few months there will be lots – dozens and dozens of polls. It is not my job, nor my job from here, to analyze these polls,” she said.

“As a general rule, we should take these polls with a grain of salt,” she said.

His chief rival from New Hampshire, Rep. Dean Phillips (D-Minn.), said the latter New York Times/Sienna poll sent a ‘powerful message’.

“There is no statement I can make that is more powerful than the statement Americans made in that poll,” Phillips told DailyMail.com in response to the new figures.
