Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s best friend and former business partner, is expected to give testimony Monday that will challenge the White House’s insistence that Joe Biden never had any knowledge of or involvement in his wayward son’s business affairs.
A source close to Archer confirmed that he is about to testify about meetings he attended with his and Hunter’s foreign business partners, where the First Son reportedly had Joe Biden on speaker. DailyMail.com reported exclusively this week that Archer is “in hiding” after receiving “threats” leading up to his amazing testimony.
A spokesperson for the House Oversight Committee told DailyMail.com they are “interested” in hearing from Archer about “whether foreign actors have targeted the Bidens and whether President Biden was involved in his family’s business dealings.”
The Justice Department sent a letter to a judge on Saturday urging an expedited sentencing of Archer — for an unrelated fraud conviction — in a last-minute effort to divert his testimony. Republicans say DOJ’s move is an attempt to “intimidate” Archer, who they say is central to providing information critical to their ongoing investigation into the Biden family’s business dealings.

Top Republican James Comer said Sunday the DOJ’s highly unusual action on a Saturday was an attempt to “intimidate” the witness he says was key to getting to the bottom of the president’s son’s shady foreign business dealings .
He said on Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures: “It’s strange that right before he’s scheduled to come in he has the opportunity to speak before the House Oversight Committee and tell the American people the truth about what really happened to Burisma.” .’
Archer’s expected testimony on Monday comes after House Speaker Kevin McCarthy indicated this week that he is considering opening an impeachment inquiry against President Biden over his “lies” about his involvement in Hunter’s dealings.
Archer, 48, was subpoenaed on June 12 by the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating Hunter’s businesses and whether he and other members of the Biden family acted improperly with their connections.
It is unclear what the motivation is behind Archer’s decision to testify on Monday. He has already canceled at least three times in the committee in recent weeks.
Chairman Comer told Fox News’ Larry Kudlow that Archer is now appearing before his committee because, having been subpoenaed, he “doesn’t have many options.”
He said Republicans intended to despise him if he failed to comply with the subpoena, which “doesn’t look good on your resume.”
“Ultimately, I think Archer wants to do the right thing,” he said. “I think he wants to set the record straight and he’s getting the chance to do that.”
A close associate of Archer told the New York Post that he testifies about his time with Hunter because he believes it is his “civic duty.”
It comes because Archer is also facing legal troubles himself and is expected to go to jail soon.
He was sentenced to one year and one day in prison in February 2022 for defrauding a Native American tribal entity and several investment advisory clients out of tens of millions of dollars, in connection with the issuance of $60 million in bonds.
He is on the hook along with his co-conspirators for $43.4 million in restitution for the fraud.
Archer’s lawyer confirmed his upcoming meeting with Congress, adding that Archer had previously testified before a federal grand jury about his dealings with the Biden family — likely referring to the criminal investigation of Delaware prosecutor David Weiss into the First Son.

Together they founded Rosemont Seneca Partners in 2009 along with Christopher Heinz, the son-in-law of former Senator John Kerry, beginning a period of international business deals and jet-setting.

Archer and Hunter Biden each received lucrative seats on the board of directors of Ukrainian energy company Burisma, despite Hunter having no specific expertise in the field. The company reportedly brought in $11 million through the scheme, based on information gathered from Hunter’s infamous laptop.

Hunter’s ex-business partner plans to testify before the committee that Hunter used this speakerphone tactic at least two dozen times, according to a New York Post report released Monday.
