Hunter Biden prosecutor tears into Joe for ‘politicized’ claims and reveals whether he faced more charges
Special counsel David Weiss suggests other charges against Hunter Biden may have been justified in a new bombshell report sent to Congress by the Justice Department on Monday.
Weiss said after a six-year case investigating President Joe Biden’s 54-year-old son, it is “inappropriate to discuss whether additional charges are warranted” as Hunter has now been pardoned.
Biden granted a pardon last month after months of promising that he would not use presidential power on behalf of his son.
‘[B]Before Mr. Biden could be convicted in either case, President Biden pardoned his son for all criminal offenses he has committed or may have committed over the past eleven years,” the special counsel wrote in the 280-page report obtained by DailyMail. com has been reviewed.
Weiss added, “In light of this pardon, I cannot make any additional decisions about Mr. Biden’s conduct during those eleven years.”
He also pushed back in his report on President Biden’s claim that he was conducting a politicized investigation against his son.
“Politicians who characterize the decisions of career prosecutors as politically motivated when they disagree with the outcome of a case undermine public confidence in our criminal justice system,” Weiss laments.
“The president’s characterizations are incorrect based on the facts of this case, and at a more fundamental level they are incorrect,” he added.
Special Counsel David Weiss sent a new report to Congress attacking President Joe Biden for claiming his investigation and convictions against Hunter Biden were politically motivated
President Biden pardoned his son Hunter, 54, last month — leading Weiss to say discussing the possibilities of additional charges against him is now ‘inappropriate’
Although the report is long, Weiss’s new information runs to about 27 pages. The rest consisted of appendices including previous documents.
Hunter was ultimately convicted in both cases Weiss investigated.
“In one case, Mr. Biden pleaded guilty to all charges, and in the other, a jury found him guilty of all charges,” he noted in the report to Congress.
Hunter was found guilty of three firearms offenses stemming from Weiss’ investigation into a 2018 gun purchase in which the president’s son lied about his drug use.
He was also charged with federal crimes related to failing to pay at least $1.4 million in taxes. Prior to this trial, the first son entered a guilty plea.
The special prosecutor insists that he has “remained impervious to political influence at all times” throughout the investigation.
“However, Mr. Biden and his counsel have consistently accused me of pursuing him vindictively and selectively,” Weiss wrote. “And in the press release at the pardon of his son, President Biden reiterated these claims, stating that he believed Mr. Biden was “selectively and unfairly prosecuted.”
“These baseless allegations have no merit and their repetition threatens the integrity of the justice system as a whole.”
