Hunt for the ‘cat killer’ of Leamington Spa: Elderly dog walker is caught on doorbell camera KICKING innocent Lenny… before the beloved pet died

This is the horrifying moment an innocent cat was savagely mauled in a street by a passing brute.

The black, gray and white moggy died days later – with his heartbroken owner blaming the ‘horrible’ man after she went downstairs to find him earlier this week.

Lenny the cat can be seen minding his own business and calmly watching the cruel bystander as he scolded his dog.

Dressed in black trousers, a black jumper and a white shirt, the unidentified man stubbed his toe as he walked past the kitten – sending it flying through the air before landing sprawled on the tarmac.

And now a police hunt is on for the thug who viciously attacked poor Len.

Speaking to MailOnline, Lenny’s distraught owner said he was the ‘street cat’ – and his friendly presence was a familiar comfort to the whole neighbourhood.

But as he passes, the man suddenly looks down and thrashes – grabbing the poor moggy under the belly and launching him into the air

His owner says visitors from the local area came to check on him before Lenny died

She said: ‘At first I was upset – I was like, ‘How can you do that?’

“It’s just a shock to a lot of people on the street. Even the people who came around the area to walk their dogs – he didn’t even bother.

So for that man to do what he did – he wouldn’t even have gone to his dog.

“He’s used to people getting over him and just being friendly.”

“After it happened, he stayed at home a lot more, he didn’t want to go out. It just literally went downhill from there.’

Shocking footage shows the man first approaching his Alsatian dog – appearing to shout: ‘Tasha! Here.’

He continues to aggressively shake the puppy after putting the bullet in – before coming after him, her head hanging.

As you step onto the sidewalk, Lenny watches warily—keeping his distance as he calmly watches the scene.

The popular moggy has left neighbors devastated – as even people who didn’t like cats rallied around the family for support

Lenny’s owner says her house feels empty without him – and she misses him greeting him in the morning

But as he passes, the man suddenly looks down and thrashes – grabbing the poor moggy under his stomach and hurling him into the air.

Landing sprawled on the sidewalk, Lenny quickly squirms under a parked car to safety as the man glares and moves on.

His heartbroken owner continued: ‘It was shocking. And other people who have seen it – their reaction was exactly what mine was.

“We’ve had her since she was a kitten, since she was 12 weeks old. He is a very friendly cat – we have lived here 23 years and he was just over 20.

“As much as a family cat, he’s the cat of the street – anyone who passed him would go and meow, just for a bit of attention.

“Even when the police came, he was meowing with them even though he was very weak by the time they came.

“After he got hit, we all noticed a lot of change in him. He slowed down and it just wasn’t him. He never wanted to be in all the time and he was in all the time.’

Lenny’s family only found out about the attack after seeing footage of the Ring’s doorbell on their phones, and the attack has left their children, grandchildren and fellow cat Lily – Lenny’s granddaughter (left) devastated.

Lenny was found dead by his owner on Monday after she woke up in the night with a premonition that she needed to see him.

She continued: “I think I just want to know what was going through his head to do something like that.

“I think it’s terrible. It’s very frustrating and upsetting just to see it.

“For him to be allowed to keep his dog with the way he treated it on the street – I dread to think what it’s like behind closed doors.

“My oldest son who lives at home now – he just couldn’t believe it when I told him.

‘It feels a little empty. I’m used to him in the morning – he comes in the door and gives me a meow to say ‘morning’.

“On Monday I woke up in the middle of the morning – I just had a feeling. I thought: ‘I have to go see Leni.’

I came down the stairs and he was on his mat and Lily had just gone to the door to get out. I think she somehow knew.

“I know he was old, but I think the hit had something to do with him.”
