Hundreds of Liverpool fans left stranded outside Wembley Stadium ahead of Carabao Cup final after digital tickets failed to work

Large numbers of Liverpool fans have been stranded outside Wembley ahead of the Carabao Cup final due to ticket sales issues.

Jürgen Klopp’s team will take on Chelsea at the national stadium in London at 3 p.m.

But there have been multiple reports of digital tickets not working at the turnstiles, meaning supporters have to queue to have paper tickets printed.

Lewis Steele, Mail Sport’s Merseyside correspondent tweeted: ‘There are many reports that digital tickets do not work outside Wembley and fans have to queue to have paper tickets printed.

‘There may be quite a few who are not yet present at kick-off.’

The match was brought forward by 90 minutes from the usual start time of 4.30pm at the request of the Metropolitan Police.

A tweet from the LFC Help account read: ‘If your ticket shows a barcode, please remove it from the wallet and re-download it from the original email. The ticket must then contain a QR code that gives access to the turnstile.’
