Hundreds in stitches over bizarre list of wacky baby names – including one that has Australians giggling

A list of unusual baby names has raised eyebrows with one moniker in particular sending Australians into hysterics.

Millennial parents have chosen some oddly spelled names for the younger generation, including Kaislee, Jonaslian, Kayshton and Hayven.

Dozens poked fun at the odd choices on a hilarious Reddit POST with Australians in particular laughing at the name Rootee for its similarity to the slang word ‘root’.

“They’ll have a hard time if they ever go to Australia, that’s for sure,” laughed one person.

The parents root for the names Marulynn and Maruteti, but some were quick to point out that all three could be cultural names, while others weren’t so moved by it.

‘Ah, I think Rootee sounds lovely, like Ruthy. I’m sure this is a cultural name and perfectly appropriate,” said one woman.

“I assumed it would be an alternate English spelling for something like Ruth,” added a second.

“Mikinzie is the worst spelling of this name I’ve ever seen,” one user laughed, while another replied: “Oh my god. When you say it out loud, expectant mothers take it as a challenge.’

“Boone reminds me of that weird alcohol that the older (expletive) kids in my town would drink. It was called Boone’s Farm, and they tasted like cherry, grape, etc. From what I’ve been told, it was sweet,” they added.

“Jonaslien is almost certainly two Spanish-speaking parents reaching out to Jonathan,” opined a second.

Parents Brandon and Kaylee decided to name their daughter Kaislee while Brook and Jakob went for Mikinzie.

The name Winsley caused a lot of chatter with one saying, “It sounds like a whining baby.”

“Why is there a part of me that actually finds Winsley kind of sweet?” the second question, which a woman answered: ‘I’m Lindsey, and little kids call me when they can’t say my name.’

“Winsley doesn’t sound terrible, but I would never use it for a baby,” someone chimed in, and another said it would make a good name for a cat or a dog.
