Hulu’s Black Friday offer is 2022’s best streaming TV deal – but it ends on Cyber Monday

Black Friday may be over, but the biggest sales event of the year isn’t yet. Cyber Monday – which technically starts on November 28 – marks the true end of some remarkably good online deals. When it comes to the world’s best streaming services, there’s always one platform that gets a hefty discount around Black Friday/Cyber Monday: Hulu. And with Cyber Monday marking the end of its busiest sales period in the past 12 months, Disney’s streamer has been caught in the act again.
Right now, new and returning customers can sign up for a 12-month Hulu subscription for just $1.99 a month at Hulu.com (opens in new tab). That works out to less than $24 for the entire year, though you’ll be signing up for the ad-based tier if you take advantage of this offer. But if you’re not worried about a few ads popping up every now and then during your binge watching sessions, this is a truly spectacular deal – and one you can cancel at any time if you’re not enjoying what’s on offer .
This streaming deal also ends with Cyber Monday — once November 28 gives way to November 29, you won’t be able to buy a Hulu ad-based subscription for less than $24 for a while. So you’ll definitely want to sign up for one.

For starters, Hulu’s back catalog is surprisingly fantastic. There are some great shows to watch, covering a wide range of genres, so fans of all types will find something worth streaming.
In the past two years alone, some of the best Hulu shows of all time have been released on the platform. Only Murders in the Building, Ramy, The Bear, Pam & Tommy, PEN15, and Reservation Dogs are just six examples of the high-quality entertainment available on Hulu – offerings that have also received regular nominations in the awards circuit. In the US, these TV series are only available to watch on Hulu (they can be streamed on Disney Plus in the UK), so you’ll need a Hulu subscription if you want these top-notch shows on one side of the Atlantic see at least.
There are also plenty of great Hulu movies to discover. From Palm Springs and Run to Prey and Fresh, Hulu has the gamut of genres to deliver a great package of the best Hulu movies.
Aside from the original content, a Hulu subscription also offers other benefits. If you raise the money, you’ll have the opportunity to try HBO Max, Warner Bros Discovery’s streaming platform, for free for a week.
By signing up for a Hulu subscription, you can select an add-on to get a seven-day free trial of HBO Max. Even with HBO Max’s own Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal, the Hulu add-on is great value for money, as it’s the only way to try HBO Max for free and watch House of the Dragon and The to catch up with Batman. Not too shabby, huh?
Plus, Hulu is one of the cheaper streaming options out there. It’s normally the second cheapest streamer, with an ad-based subscription costing just $7.99 per month. That means Hulu is only surpassed by Apple TV Plus ($4.99 a month) when it comes to buying a subscription in the US. Other alternatives, such as Netflix ($9.99 per month), HBO Max ($9.99), and Prime Video ($8.99) may have larger libraries. But when it comes to saving money on a streaming subscription, Hulu is up there, even if the Cyber Monday sales aren’t happening.
Admittedly, Hulu’s 2022 Cyber Monday offer isn’t quite as good as its predecessor. Last year, a 12-month Hulu subscription could be had for less than $12 — that’s $0.99 per month. Still, signing up for this year’s $1.99 a month deal offers spectacular value for money, with potential customers saving themselves $72 if they do.
In a year where the cost-of-living crisis has driven daily prices up — and people are subsequently canceling their subscriptions to streaming services — this Cyber Monday deal is worth considering. Sure, HBO Max’s own offering is equally tempting, but that $1.99 a month deal expires after three months, while Hulu’s lasts for the whole year. For those looking to save as much money as possible on a streaming subscription, Hulu wins hands down – which is mainly why I’ll be buying one this Cyber Monday.
