Hulk Hogan hints he could be eyeing a spot in the Trump administration

Wrestling great Hulk Hogan hinted there may be a future spot for him in the Trump administration.

Appearing on Fox News Channel on Saturday, Hogan told Brian Kilmeade about a conversation he had backstage with the president-elect at the Madison Square Garden rally in late October.

“My president said, ‘You know, it would be great if you headed the President’s Council on Physical Fitness,’” Hogan recalled, after first accidentally referring to the president-elect as the less formal “Donald.”

Kilmeade had played a clip from The Daily Show in which host Jon Stewart joked that Hogan would become “Secretary of Take Your Vitamins” while loudly shouting the fake job title.

The Fox News host then asked Hogan if Stewart was right.

“At the end of the day, when I was sitting in the back at Madison Square Garden after the whole meeting, we were talking about Robert Kennedy, I was talking about food and how many foreign countries won’t even let their people eat the food. that we eat here in America,” Hogan explained.

“It’s so bad and it’s poisoned a whole generation of children,” he said.

“And at the end of the day we started talking about physical fitness,” Hogan added.

That’s when Trump presented the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition appearance.

The Republican nominee told Hogan he would be a good fit because “you’re 71 and you still have that Trump pump-up brother.”

“And it would be great if you could get all the kids in America in shape,” Hogan continued.

However, the wrestler suggested he was semi-retired.

“My thing is I’m a beach lover, brother, I love staying on the beach,” Hogan told Kilmeade. “But you never know, it could happen.”

Trump will have some time to decide on a new chairman as President Joe Biden’s term lasts until September 30, 2025.

It is also not unusual for a well-known athlete to serve as chairman.

And in the past, this position has served as a springboard for athletes entering Republican politics.

Former NFL great Herschel Walker was a Trump pick and served as co-chairman from 2019 to 2020.

He later ran unsuccessfully for the Senate in Georgia.

Arnold Schwarzenegger was chairman from 1990 to 1993, ten years before becoming governor of California as a Republican.

Lynn Swann, a former Pittsburgh Steeler, served as chairman from 2002 to 2005 before running unsuccessfully for Republican governor of Pennsylvania.

Other athletes charged with leading the President’s Council included New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees, Olympic gymnast Dominique Dawes, Olympic volleyball player Misty May-Treanor and professional bodybuilder Lee Haney.
