Huh, we’re getting a Twilight animated series from Edward Cullen’s perspective
Apparently there’s an animated Twilight TV series in the works, but there’s a twist.
Netflix announced on Wednesday that it works to adapt Midnight sunthe Twilight novel written from the perspective of vampire heartthrob Edward Cullen, played in the live-action film series by Robert Pattinson. This book, in which Edward details his perspective on his romance with human lover Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart in the films), is a particularly infamous part of the Twilight lore: the first 12 chapters of the manuscript leaked online in 2008, prior to publication, and author Stephenie Meyer was so irritated by the experience that she had posted those chapters online herself, stating that she would not finish the book. She eventually changed her mind, and the actual official Midnight sun novel was released in 2020.
In the meantime she also wrote and released Life and Death: Twilight Reinvented, a gender-swapped version of TwilightWhere is That animated series, Netflix?
Meyer is set to serve as one of the project’s executive producers. Sinead Daly (Tell me lies) will executive produce and write the series. There is no further casting information, release date, or details on which studio will be tapped to produce the animation. But one thing is of the utmost importance: Animated Edward needs to really sparkle.
