Hugh Sheridan fights back tears over slain lovers Luke Davies and Jesse Baird during touching tribute by the flight attendant’s old bosses at Virgin Australia – as he opens up about his own domestic violence nightmare

EXCLUSIVE

Hugh Sheridan has fought back tears as he spoke about allegedly murdered couple Jesse Baird and Luke Davies.

Detectives allege Mr Baird, 26, and Mr Davies, 29, were shot dead by NSW Police Senior Constable Beau Lamarre-Condon at Mr Baird’s Paddington apartment in Sydney’s east about 9.50am on Monday.

Lamarre-Condon has been charged with two counts of murder.

Sheridan, who previously revealed he was friends with Davies, was overcome with emotion as he spoke about the couple’s deaths during a Virgin Australia Pride Flight on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s Mardi Gras parade.

The Packed to the Rafters star wiped his eyes as Mr Davies, a former Virgin flight attendant, and Mr Baird were honored at the event.

Virgin Australia has announced that it has made a donation to the Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation in the wake of the alleged murders.

‘For me this is the most confrontational time. I feel like everything I do or say is scrutinized,” Sheridan told Daily Mail Australia.

“It’s probably been the weirdest and most horrible days ever because you’re just trying to piece it all together and make everything right.”

Sheridan, who appeared close to tears, struggled to get the words out but said every day was a “nightmare” and revealed he had been a victim of domestic abuse.

‘No one knows about my own domestic violence situation that I was in. It’s the damn test ever,” he said.

Before the bodies of Mr Davies and Mr Baird were found, Sheridan re-shared a social media post from NSW Police asking for help finding Luke, adding the caption: ‘Please help find my friend, I’m so worried.’

‘Beautiful Luc. We are all thinking of you, your family and angels.

“I pray that wherever you are now, you have no fear. A sweeter heart than yours would be very hard to find.”

Human remains of Mr Davies and Mr Baird were discovered on Tuesday afternoon, packed in surf bags and buried in a lonely forest grave.

Their alleged killer is said to have hired a white rental van to transport their bodies to a remote farm in Bungonia, about 180km south-west of Sydney.

It is alleged he then returned to the site to move the bodies to another location in Bungonia, about a 20-minute drive away.

Lamarre-Condon is currently behind bars at the Silverwater Correctional Complex, in Sydney’s west.

He must appear in court again in April.
