Hugh Jackman recently announced he’ll be reprising his iconic role of Wolverine, and he’s taking it very seriously.

The actor, 54, shared a carousel of snaps on his Instagram on Thursday and one of the photos shows him flexing his muscles while working out at the gym.

He’s also been photographed sporting a long gray beard, which could be for the role or he’s just too busy working out to shave.

While the Hollywood actor casually posted the photos with the caption “Lost & found photo dump,” it has not escaped fans that he is training hard to once again take on the role of a superhero.

One fan responded to the post: “Ohhh we love posts like this Hugh, keep them coming.”

“Welcome to another episode where you become Wolverine again,” the Sydney native wrote alongside the footage.

It didn’t take long for many of his fans to express their excitement at Hugh’s return to the role that first made him a Hollywood star two decades ago.

In January, Jackman revealed that it will take him six months of hardcore training to physically prepare for his return as Wolverine.

The esteemed actor — who recently escalated his “feud” with frenemy Ryan Reynolds — continued Who’s Taking to Chris Wallace, talking about the amount of time and dedication it takes to become the iconic mutant.

“I don’t do any other work,” Hugh declared to Chris Wallace, according to Complex. “I’m going to be with my family and train. That will be my job for six months.’

Hugh initially appeared as Wolverine in the first X-Men movie in 2000 and the character’s huge popularity saw Hugh star in several sequels and spin-offs.

Deadpool 3 isn’t due until November 2024, but Ryan and Hugh have already teased the plot in a funny follow-up video, sending fans wild.
