“I think honesty and intimacy and time make it [are the secret to a long and happy marriage]. You can’t just assume that things will work out. You have to make time,’ said Hugh Smooth radio in February.
And intimacy is about really sharing what you’re going through, feelings, and checking in with the other person, checking what they need from you, checking in, how they’re doing, checking in and beyond.
‘Only because you get caught up in the issues of the day so easily. That’s hard enough. Kids, school run, whatever it is, sleepless nights, it’s exhausting. So you have to check in with each other.’
Jackman and his lover make sure to spend quality time together each morning where they “meditate, read, and check in.”
‘You can miss the day. And sometimes at night, I’m sorry, that’s not the best version of me at night,” the six-foot-tall triple-threat admitted.
‘I’m tired, I want to check out. I run out of words all day long. They say men have 2000 words a day. Women have 6,000, men have 2,000. And so many of the complaints are at home.
“Women said, ‘Why isn’t he talking? What is he thinking?’ Believe me, he thinks nothing. He just sits there watching television, nothing happens. And so sometimes I say to my wife, “I’m out of words, I’m out of words.” And she says, “I get it.”‘
