Hugh Jackman worries about cancer: Wolverine star undergoes two biopsies after several previous procedures: ‘I wanted you to hear from me
Hugh Jackman has been diagnosed with skin cancer again.
The Australian actor, 54, underwent two biopsies after his doctor noticed “little things” that could be Basel cell carcinoma – the most common form of skin cancer.
In 2017, the Wolverine star had six skin cancers removed from his face within a two-year period. In 2021, he had an inconclusive result after a biopsy on his face, which showed BCC was the worst it could be.
Hugh wore a bandage over his nose, shared the news in a video on social media and urged his fans to be safe from the sun.
‘Hey guys. So I wanted you to hear from me in case anyone sees me on the street or whatever,” he began.
“I just had two biopsies done. I just went to see my doctor, Dr. Iron, who is wonderful.
“I’ll find out in two or three days, and as soon as I know I’ll let you know.
“Just to remind you, Basel Cell in the world of skin cancer is the least dangerous of them all.”
Hugh admitted that the sun spots he’s now got off his skin are from his time away from home 25 years ago.
He urged fans, especially for the summer for those in the Northern Hemisphere, to be safe when out in the sun.
“Wear sunscreen. It’s just not worth it,” he said.
“No matter how much you want to tan, trust me, trust me, trust me.”
The Greatest Showman star added, “Put on some sunscreen. You’ll still have an incredible time, okay? Please be safe.’

In his caption, Hugh explained how he had been open about his skin cancer fears in the past, adding that it doesn’t bother him as long as it reminds people to wear sunscreen.
“I know you’ve heard me talk about my basal cell carcinomas before. I will continue to talk about it if necessary,” he wrote.
And if it reminds even one person to slather on sunscreen with a high SPF, I’ll be happy.
He told ABC News in 2015 that his childhood was “all outdoors,” and that protective ointments like sunscreen weren’t a priority in his family.
“I don’t think my mom or dad ever bought it or forced us to put it on,” he said.
“What I remember most, the rule about being outside, was that you couldn’t swim within half an hour of eating … and that’s not true.”
