The couple, who share three children together, married in 2018 at Chelsea registry office, near their £10million west London home.
Hugh plays an Oompa Loompa in the movie, but his own role has been met with controversy.
The decision to cast Hugh was criticized by an actor with dwarfism, who argued that the role should have been offered to an actor with the condition, as there is a lack of roles for dwarfs.
The Oompa-Loompas were played by actors with dwarfism in two previous films based on Roald Dahl’s iconic children’s book.
George Coppen – a 6ft 4in actor whose father played an Ewok in Star Wars – told the BBC: ‘A lot of actors [with dwarfism] it feels like we are being pushed out of the industry we love,” he said.
‘Many people, including myself, argue that dwarves should be offered everyday roles in dramas and soaps, but we are not offered those roles.
“One door is closed, but they forgot to open the next.”
In Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, the Oompa Loompas are the small workers in the factory that Wonka imported from Loompaland.

The new Wonka film tells the story of the chocolatier before he opens his chocolate factory.
It’s scheduled for release in the UK on December 8, in time for Christmas.
The film is based on Roald Dahl’s classic 1964 novel Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and is directed by Paul King, who previously directed both Paddington films.
The premise reads as follows: “The amazing story of how the world’s greatest inventor, magician and chocolate maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today,” an official said. IMDB summary.
Hugh shares two children with Tinglan Hong.
In January 2018, the actor spoke with People TV’s Jess Cagle about becoming a father.
He said: ‘It was the most beautiful thing that ever happened to me. It’s just wonderful to have all that love around you.
‘Suddenly you love someone more than yourself. In my case, that’s unheard of and they love you and it’s all enchanting.”
And when he told Ellen DeGeneres in 2012, he also said, “Everyone was right all these years and said, “Hugh, why don’t you have children? It changes your life!”
In the trailer for the new film, which focuses on the life of Willy Wonka, Grant appears as an Oompa Loompa trapped in a jar.

Earlier this year, Hugh hit back at an online claim that he only married Anna ‘for passport reasons’, insisting it was because he loved her.
The star came across the claim listed last month as part of a Google search and, after objecting to it, set the record straight on Twitter.
Hugh hit back, insisting the reason he and his wife tied the knot was ‘love’.
He shared a screenshot of the search results for his wife Anna’s full name, which revealed an online article published by site Nicki Swift in December 2020 in which he claimed he married Anna for “passport reasons.”
The Bridget Jones’s Diary actor got married for the first time three years ago and the article quotes him saying in an interview with USA Today that he and Anna believe marriage is a “pretty absurd social construct” before recording their different names discuss their passports.
Hugh, who shares three children with TV producer Anna, said while talking about marriage: ‘I didn’t like going through immigration to countries where they said, ‘Everyone with a Grant passport here, and everyone else over there.’
‘[Anna] continued with the nannies. That seemed completely wrong.’
However, Hugh – who previously dated Elizabeth Hurley – has now insisted that he did not actually marry for practical reasons, but married for love.
After coming across the search screenshot, Hugh shared it via Twitter and fired back, “No, I didn’t, @internet. I married her because I love her.”
Wonka will be released in the UK on December 8 and in the US on December 15.
