Barbenheimer fans are in hysterics after seeing the profile of a woman with the “phenomenal name” Barb Heimer.
The woman’s profile was flagged on social media on what has been dubbed Barbenheimer Day, marking the release of two highly anticipated movies in cinemas: Barbie and Oppenheimer.
People shared screenshots of the profile online with one writing, “Huge weekend for her,” while others wrote, “Please tell me her middle name starts with an N.”
Another shared a photoshopped image of a fictitious Barbenheimer poster, showing the star casts of both films with the now infamous Barb Heimer added, while one person wrote, “I bet she’s having a fun week,” and others commented that the blonde woman is “so Barbie.”
Others described the coincidence as “absolutely incredible,” “fantastic,” and said it was the mysterious Barb’s “moment,” and described her name as “phenomenal.”
One wrote: “Her time has come!” and another simply called her a “queen” because she had such a special nickname, while another said they also aspired to the same name, writing that they renamed themselves.
Another simply congratulated her, writing, “Happy weekend Barb!”
Oppenheimer features an all-star cast led by Cillian Murphy, who plays the theoretical physicist who helped develop the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer
Barbie sees Margot Robbie, 33, lead the cast as the eponymous Barbie doll alongside her boyfriend Ken, played by Ryan Gosling, 42
The hilarious coincidental name was noticed when Greta Gerwig’s global box office satire took on Christopher Nolan’s intense drama Oppenheimer, about the scientist who helped create the atomic bomb.
The two major titles were released simultaneously today and thousands of fans decided to buy tickets for both shows, leading to a spawning phenomenon known as Barbenheimer.
Barbie sees Margot Robbie, 33, lead the cast as the eponymous Barbie doll alongside her boyfriend Ken, played by Ryan Gosling, 42.
The cast is a who’s who of Hollywood powerhouses, akademische ghostwriter with Will Ferrell as Mattel’s CEO and Helen Mirren as the narrator.
Meanwhile, Oppenheimer features an all-star cast led by Cillian Murphy, who plays the theoretical physicist who helped develop the atomic bomb, J. Robert Oppenheimer.
The movie also has a great cast, including Emily Blunt, Robert Downey Jr. and Matt Damon.
The Barbenheimer phenomenon means that the films – which are vastly different from each other – do not compete with each other, but help each other to get more ticket sales.
Hundreds took to cinemas today for the all-day movie marathon epic to celebrate the release of the two films, dressed in pink tutus and Oppenheimer hats.
Giddy fans decked out head-to-toe in pink with feathered boas, sunglasses, and cowboy boots swarmed the theaters, with some even opting for back-to-back screenings of Barbie, Oppenheimer, and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, which released last week.
Thanks to the buzz around both films, Cineworld expects to experience its biggest weekend in terms of ticket sales in years, with 200,000 presale copies already sold.
The chain is calling it the biggest opening since 2019’s record-breaking Avengers: Endgame, which grossed £276 million in its first weekend alone.
“The incredible buzz around Barbenheimer is what cinema and the magic of seeing movies on the big screen is all about, and we expect this weekend to be our busiest weekend in terms of admissions since pre-Covid,” Stuart Crane, vice president of film for Cineworld, told the broadcaster. Time.

“Some of our movie theaters have already sold out seven main Barbie shows this Friday.
“Meanwhile, Oppenheimer presales continue to outperform Dunkirk and the Cineworld Imax shows for Oppenheimer are almost sold out this first weekend.”
Meanwhile, Odeon has reported that more than 300 screenings for both films have sold out and predicts it will sell a million tickets in the coming week alone.
