A teacher who fled after having sex with a student in a high school classroom has pleaded guilty to charges.
Caitlin Thao, 24, a substitute teacher at St. Paul City School in Minnesota, sexually assaulted a 17-year-old boy after school in an empty classroom.
She was charged with fourth-degree criminal sexual abuse and a nationwide warrant was issued for her arrest in May by the Ramsey County District Court.
Thao agreed this week to a plea deal that will see her serve up to six months in prison and register as a predatory criminal, the Star tribune.

The teenage victim told police on March 13 that he had sex with Thao about six weeks earlier in the classroom where she taught.
In late February, she resigned, reportedly telling a social worker in the mental health department at Regions Hospital where she was being treated.
Thao pleaded guilty this week in Ramsey County Superior Court and will serve a maximum of six months in jail before being placed on supervised release.
She will also have to undergo a psychosexual evaluation and register as a predatory offender. Her sentencing is scheduled for September 10.
On May 10, St. Paul City School sent a letter to parents explaining that the alleged illicit sex with a 17-year-old boy occurred after school in an empty classroom.
