- Broncos NRL player cleared after police investigation
- Was questioned after responding to alleged domestic disturbance
- Player was not named, police confirmed ‘investigation is ongoing’
A Broncos NRL star who was investigated over an alleged domestic violence incident has reportedly been cleared by Queensland police.
This follows a report that one of the club’s players had been questioned after police were called to an alleged domestic disturbance in Brisbane’s south on July 28.
The player, whose name has not been released, has not been arrested or charged.
Police said an investigation was ongoing at the time and have since informed the player that they will not be investigating the alleged matter, according to News Corp.
The Broncos notified the NRL of the allegation in late July, but no players were sidelined under the code’s No Fault Stand Down policy as they were not charged.
At the time, the Broncos stated they were ‘cooperating with police and the NRL’.
“We have been made aware of a matter involving one of our players. The club has passed this on to the NRL Integrity Unit,” the club said in a statement.
‘The health and well-being of all parties is of the utmost importance to our club and all support has been offered to those involved.

‘The club is unable to comment further at this time.’
The Broncos are unlikely to finish in the NRL’s top eight after reaching the finals last season.
Kevin Walters’ team are in tenth place, with games remaining against Parramatta, the Dolphins and Melbourne.
Mathematically they can still play the final, but they need to get some results to play against them.
