We’ve certainly had no shortage of Samsung Galaxy S23 leaks in recent weeks, and now high-resolution images of the phone series – which appear to be Samsung’s own official renders of the handsets – have come online.
These photos come via well-known tipster Evan Blass (opens in new tab) (through SamMobile (opens in new tab)), and mean that we have a very good idea of what to expect when these devices are finally unveiled and properly shown to the world.
The big reveal is on February 1, a Wednesday. The Unpacked launch event that Samsung is hosting will primarily be for the Galaxy S23 series, although Samsung can always surprise us with some extra hardware too.
Four colours
We get a full look at the Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in this leak, and there are four different colors to look at – these beige, black, green and light pink hues have all already leaked .
Even for devices in an industry where devices are often revealed in advance, there have been many Samsung Galaxy S23 leaks. We now know almost everything there is to know about these handsets, including possible upgrades to the built-in storage.
We also expect substantial improvements to the camera capabilities on these phones, especially on the Ultra model. We will of course bring you all official announcements and revelations as Samsung does them on February 1st.
Analysis: looks good
The photos of the Samsung Galaxy S23 that have just leaked join other images of the phones we’ve seen ahead of time – and there’s no real major upgrade here in terms of the aesthetics of these new 2023 handsets.
You’ll notice that while the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus had a raised camera module on the back, the lenses here are housed separately and protrude from the rear of the handsets, following the design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Everything else is as you’d expect: thin bezels around the screen, a more curved look for the Ultra model, and some new wallpapers to mark the occasion with the name of Samsung’s new flagship smartphone.
The major upgrades to the Galaxy S series this year will be on the inside of the handsets, and we’re fine with that – the 2022 phones Samsung released were all fine aesthetically.
