Huge noughties rock star looks unrecognisable 23 years on from his band’s massive number one hit – but can you guess who it is?

He was part of a huge rap rock act in the 1990s and released a particularly famous song that topped the charts for two weeks.

But this music star, 53, looks unrecognizable 23 years after reaching number one with a bushy silver beard and a slightly more mature face.

When the hit hit number one in 2001, the frontman’s signature goatee and rear-guard were almost as famous as the band’s very sweary words.

Other top 10 hits included My Way and Nookie, while their number one album, which sold over a million copies, was titled Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog.

The band formed in Florida in 1995 and consists of bassist Sam Rivers, drummer John Otto, guitarist Wes Borland and DJ Lethal – but can you guess who’s in the photo?

It’s Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit, whose voice was behind all those belters, including the smash hit Rollin’.

The American rapper and singer looked worlds away from when he first found fame when he performed at Download Festival.

He thrilled fans when he took the stage and performed some of the group’s biggest hits while still wearing the signature hat.

This time there was no backwards baseball cap and instead the rapper opted for a light blue bucket hat, which he paired with a striped baseball jersey and white pants.

Limp Bizkit attempted a comeback when they released The Unquestionable Truth (Part 1) in 2005, but were unable to reignite their previous level of success, causing the band to take a hiatus.

Since then, Limp Bizkit has continued to occasionally tour and perform at festivals.

They have hinted at new music a number of times and released an album in 2021 titled Still Sucks.

In 2022, Fred secretly married a much younger woman named Arles in LA for the fourth time.

In 2022, Fred secretly tied the knot for a fourth time, with the blushing bride showing off her diamond ring in her Instagram profile photo and changing her bio to Mrs. D, aka Arles Durst

The brunette beauty is stepmother to Fred’s 32-year-old daughter Adriana (L, pictured in 2005) from his three-year marriage to first wife Rachel Tergesen, which ended in 1993

She is also the stepmother of the musician’s son, Dallas (L, pictured in 2019) from his two-month affair with Jennifer Thayer in 2000.

The rap rocker was first pictured with Arles in May of that same year when he brought her on stage during a concert at Pennsylvania’s Mohegan Sun Arena.

Arles wore an orange hoodie and blue jeans as she slow danced with Fred to George Michael’s 1984 hit Careless Whisper before the band performed their 1999 smash Nookie.

The brunette beauty is now stepmother to Fred’s daughter Adriana, 34, from his three-year marriage to first wife Rachel Tergesen, which ended in 1993, and to his son Dallas, 23, from his two-month affair with Jennifer Thayer in 2000.

Fred’s third marriage to Crimean make-up artist Kseniya Beryazina ended in 2019 after six years and a scandal, which led to him being banned from visiting Ukraine for five years.

In 2015, Durst (born Frederick Mayne III) wrote a letter calling on administrators for a Russian passport, allegedly calling President Vladimir Putin “a great guy with clear moral principles and a nice person.”

In addition to touring and performing with the band, Fred has also directed a number of films, including The Education of Charlie Banks and The Longshots.

Five years ago he directed the film The Fanatic, starring John Travolta.
