A massive fire has closed a major highway in Melbourne.
The fire, believed to be at Kennards Self Storage in Port Melbourne, has closed the adjacent Westgate Freeway in both directions.
Images shared on social media show out-of-control flames tearing through the storage facility, while nearby trees are engulfed and a huge plume of black smoke hangs over the city.
The VicEmergency website reveals that at least nine crews are heading to the fire and it is ‘not yet under control’.
Reports on social media suggest a grass fire has spread to the self-storage warehouse.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted Victoria Police and Fire Rescue Victoria for comment.
