How to watch Gamescom Opening Night Live and what to expect
GamescomThe world’s largest video game convention officially kicks off on Wednesday in Cologne, Germany. But the show kicks off virtually on Tuesday, with a streaming presentation called Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by The Game Awards host Geoff Keighley. This year’s ONL stream begins on Tuesday, August 20 at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT and can be viewed on Gamescom’s YouTube And Twitching channels, and at The Game Awards’ YouTube And Twitching channels.
Keighley says the 2024 Gamescom ONL event will be a two-hour “showcase of what’s next for video games,” with promising gameplay reveals, new game announcements and more.
We already have a good idea of what to expect. Keighley has confirmed that Batman: Arkham Shadow, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Dragon Ball: Sparks! Zero, Dune: Awakening, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Little Nightmares 3, Marvel Rivals, Monster Hunter WildsAnd Sid Meier’s Civilization VII will be present during Tuesday’s stream. Developers have also hinted at appearances from ARC Raidersthe delayed free-to-play third-person shooter from Embark Studios; and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach from Kojima Productions.
Keighley too teased an unannounced title with a (gruesome) trailer promising that “The Beast is coming.” That could be related to a new Dying Light game, according to a recently registered trademark of Techland. He is also confirmed a game that won’t be there: Hollow Knight: Silk Song. Sorry!
When does Gamescom ONL start?
Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024 will be streamed live on Tuesday, August 20 at 2:00 PM EDT/11:00 AM PDT/7:00 PM BST/8:00 PM CEST. Check your time zone to see when the Gamescom 2024 live stream starts in your part of the world.
Unlike previous years, there does not appear to be a pre-show stream for Gamescom ONL 2024.

Keighley has confirmed that Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024 will last approximately two hours.
What else is being streamed from Gamescom?
Xbox will have a major presence at Gamescom 2024, streaming live every day of the show from August 21 through 23. Each day will have its own dedicated streams, beginning broadcasting at 9 a.m. EDT/6 a.m. PDT.
Day 1 of Xbox’s Gamescom presence promises gameplay walkthroughs and developer interviews for Diablo 4: Ship of Hatred, Diablo Immortal, STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, Starfield: Shattered Space, Atomic trapAnd Age of Mythology: Retold.
Day 2 will consist of: Star Wars Bandits, World of Warcraft: The War Within, Elder Scrolls Online, Fallout 76: Milestone Zero, Tower cityand more.
Day 3 wraps things up with another look at games like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Granted, Ara: Untold History, Metaphor ReFantazio, Sea of Thieves, 33 ImmortalsAnd Warhammer 40,000: Space Marines 2.
Also streaming from Gamescom 2024 is the Future Games Show, with a presentation on Wednesday, August 21 that will showcase more than 50 titles from 2K, Tripwire Presents, Plaion, Nacon, Rebellion and more. Expect two “deep dive interviews” with Firaxis Games, developer of Civilization VIIand an exclusive look at The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 2.
