Build automatically is one of the many skills you can unlock The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
It allows you to quickly recreate vehicles without having to build them manually with Ultrahand, whether it’s a history of your past creations or “blueprints” like Schema Stones.
Unlock Autobuild in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
To find Autobuild, you’ll need to venture into the depths – so if you haven’t already, we recommend starting the “Camerawork in the Depths” quest to get acquainted with the underground realm, which also teaches you how you can illuminate the depths so you can explore safely.
Keep playing Robbie and Josha’s questline and you’ll eventually unlock”A mystery in the depths.” If it doesn’t appear for you as you progress, try completing one of the temples as part of the Regional Phenomena quest to see if that helps. Whenever you get close to “A Mystery in the Depths”, you’ll be prompted to follow the direction of the statues pointing into the depths, which will take you to where you’ll find Autobuild.
However, it is too seems possible that you can go directly to the location where the quest takes you to unlock Autobuild without that quest – so if you’re excited, feel free to go there.
(Anyway, if you want to explore the depths with the utmost confidence, then it might be worth checking out the Miner’s Armor set at some point, which gives Link a useful glow when equipped.)
Where to find the Great Abandoned Central Mine location
Wherever you start in the depths, you must find the Large abandoned central minewhich is located at coordinates in the Central Hyrule Depths -0781, -1886, -0523.
We recommend activating the Iayusus Lightroot in the Central Hyrule Depths – that’s close to where you need to find Robbie’s location as part of the “Camera Work in the Depths” quest.
Then head south to the Nihcayam Lightroot.
From there, continue south past the Grove of Time (there are a few enemy camps along the way – whether or not you attack is up to you!) until you come across a large temple-like structure.
Enter the Great Abandoned Central Mine and you’ll find a Researcher and a Steward Construct. Doing this will give you the Autobuild skill.
You are then tasked with repairing two objects on two plinths on either side of the stairs, a not-so-subtle tutorial on the benefits of using Autobuild.
Manually repair one with Ultrahand by attaching the wheels to the body, then use Autobuild’s History feature to repair the others, provided you’re close to the required components. (If you’re nowhere near the resources you need, you’ll have to dive into your zonaite stores to get the job done.)
Once you’re done, you’ll be introduced to Master Kohga, leader of the Yiga clan, followed by a boss fight.
In this battle with Kohga, they use different vehicles in a small arena. Keep moving as the vehicle moves around – it will move quite slowly – and use projectiles such as arrows, spears or flower bombs on Kohga to immobilize them. When stunned, use a sword or other melee weapon to further reduce their health.
Repeat with different types of vehicles until the battle is over. Master Kohga will then declare that they are going to the Southwestern Abandoned Mine, which starts the Master Kohga of the Yiga Clan quest, and you will receive a huge crystallized charge as a reward.
Whether you continue right away or want to play with your newly unlocked Autobuild skill first, it’s up to you. If you’ve completed the “A Mystery in the Depths” quest, you can now start unlocking more Purah Pad upgrades, including the Travel Medallion and Hero’s Path.
